I think people are giving Sasuke too much credit here. Yes, he's able to keep up with Lee's ordinary speed, but if Rock Lee went into the first few gates, he'd still beat Sasuke at this stage probably.

He is NOT as fast as lee or could maintain Lee's natural speed over a long period of time. case in point: (You could compare it to Kise copying the generation of miracles in the Anime Kuroko no Basket) Naruto was able to use fast speed against neji when utilizing the Nine tails chakra. The sharingan can be able to copy speed at major expense of chakra usage. Sasuke had to learn this regardless in order to use chidori. Lee when fighting Gaara didnt open any gates to use his NATURAL speed withought weights. and only opened them prior to using the hidden lotus which causes a ninja's physical strength to go beyond your limits. which is a prerequisite of opening the eight gates. Even in shippuden Lee would body Sasuke. Just like Guy would body Itachi.
Lee dosent stand a chance Vs Sasuke (in Shippuden). I love Lee but he got nerfed hard as well as Neji. The focused everything in "powerbuidling" Sasuke and Naruto (unfortunately). Lees only chance Vs Sasuke is the 8 gate, and Guy Vs Itachi as well. That practically suicide (with a high chance of victory). But if we would argue like that then Deidara with his Alahu akbareno jutsu could defeat almost everyone.
