Hello! I’m a Asian (Filipino) and I wouldn’t consider this Asian fishing! Asian fishing is when you elongate your eyes, her makeup is called dolly makeup where you made your eyes look bigger not longer
I was struggling with this I saw an Asian girl who mentioned she was Asian and posted pictures/ makeup pics showing what’s Asian fishing and I do my makeup just like this doll makeup and she said it was Asian fishing in a picture ? And I really don’t want to be the person who is Asian fishing yk because I do watch anime but I definitely know I’m Hispanic and wouldn’t try to be someone I’m not ..?

(and before you debate whether or not im asian, punyeta wag na nakakagigil kayong mga pusang gala) they’re doing dolly make up by the way they shade their under eye (the eyeducts) white rather than enlongating their eyes and shading under the elongated liner white to mimic almond eyes. Okay so, for everyone who is asking. Yes, this is asian fishing. You can clearly see many upset asians in the comments and I'm gonna explain how this is asian fishing. Firstly, when she does her eyeliner, she extends the white liner to go beyond her outer corner of her eyes, and that is part of asian fishing. I know the whole point of the makeup is to make ur eyes bigger, but the makeup would've been fine without it being extended. In addition, the title. The title is "My anime girl makeup tutorial". That is very unacceptable especially because Anime is from Japan created by Japanese people making it disrespectful to call your makeup "anime" or even compare urself to "anime". So its considered Asian fishing to do that. And yes, this is coming from a %100 eastern asian, I'm Hmong and my history was back in Veitnam and Thai. Making me an Eastern asian. By your logic on the anime part, that would make all cosplayers asian fishing. Which they are not. Just because anime is from Japan, does not make it offensive because this is cosplay makeup. Cosplay makeup is meant to emulate anime characters. And going to the argument about eyeliner, that would make simple "cat eye" eyeliner asian fishing, which again is not. This makeup is just exagerrated cosplay makeup. Okay so, for everyone who is asking. Yes, this is asian fishing. You can clearly see many upset asians in the comments and I'm gonna explain how this is asian fishing. Firstly, when she does her eyeliner, she extends the white liner to go beyond her outer corner of her eyes, and that is part of asian fishing. I know the whole point of the makeup is to make ur eyes bigger, but the makeup would've been fine without it being extended. In addition, the title. The title is "My anime girl makeup tutorial". That is very unacceptable especially because Anime is from Japan created by Japanese people making it disrespectful to call your makeup "anime" or even compare urself to "anime". So its considered Asian fishing to do that. And yes, this is coming from a %100 eastern asian, I'm Hmong and my history was back in Veitnam and Thai. Making me an Eastern asian. And yes, my eyes are pretty huge and I have hooded eyes, sort of like Korean's.:) Have a good day, if you want to argue with me, go ahead. But if you're white, you have no place to say if this is asian fishing or not!

By your logic on the anime part, that would make all cosplayers asian fishing. Which they are not. Just because anime is from Japan, does not make it offensive because this is cosplay makeup. Cosplay makeup is meant to emulate anime characters. And going to the argument about eyeliner, that would make simple "cat eye" eyeliner asian fishing, which again is not. This makeup is just exagerrated cosplay makeup. I would understand if it was asian fishing if she was making her eyes more slanted in photos or through video editing like some instagram influencers, or exaggerated certain features to make herself appear more asian, then I would have a problem. But as stated above, this is just exaggerated cosplay makeup. No I am not white, btw.
