Vincent Afton (Yes Claire was so stuffy that she gave William his father’s last name even though she gave him away) and Claire Wentworth!
She’s upper middle class, he was upper lower class, they banged, she got pregnant, they Didn’t get married, Vincent went to war, he made a friend, he told the friend he left an unborn baby behind, she gave birth, immediately gave William to an orphanage, and then wrote Vincent a letter saying “I regret to inform that although I successfully gave birth, the baby was dead.”, Vincent was devastated and climbed over a rail on the ship, Robert said “I love you don’t do that”, he climbed back onto the ship, a few years later he got another letter saying “your home town was completely destroyed by German bombs a few days ago” dated an entire month earlier, he said fuck it there’s nothing left for me in England, and moved to Australia with his boyfriend.

I really want to Vincent and his boyfriend backstory they’re really interesting. Vincent been through shit that no should go through. I can’t even imagine the pain he been through. Seriously woman you be proud he chose to fight you and your kid safely not blame him. He even said he was going to come back you didn’t have to orphan Will like that like you have zero reason to do that. Like explaining you didn’t want to take care of Will anymore and give the baby to Vincent. You did ever try to visit Vince or write to him after telling him the baby die probably not.
