I am a Ghanaian(Africa) due to tension in this game i couldn’t watch the penalties. I went far away where i will see no television and i only followed the noise. After the penalties i heard people running and shouting messi messi messi then i knew my favorite has won. I wept like a baby and till date i still get tears in my eyes whenever i watch the repeat. I betrayed my own country during this World Cup. I am Australian and yet I was supporting Argentina against us because I love football and knew how much more this victory meant to Argentina and Lionel Messi. Have been a Barcelona fan all my life and have seen the dark period before Messi arrived. If ever a player deserved a fairytale ending it was Lionel Messi.
I had to apologise to my neighbours after the final because I screamed the house down constantly at 3-4am. So loud that I could actually taste blood in the back of my throat. I will never forget that game and feel blessed to have watch Messi’s entire career from way down under.

We baracked for the Matildas and saw all their games on telly at the Women's World Cup. And I am still in an Aussie rules footy tipping comp.
