I watched this video at work, I cried. I've watched this video at home, numerous times, and I've cried. Like you said, our job may seem trivial to some, but the education and dedication I put into my role in Sephora is so worth it if I can make just one person feel beautiful that day. It's not about validating beauty with makeup, it's helping my client see themselves differently. It's seeing the newfound confidence as they step out of the store. Thank you so so much Natalie.

I watched this last night during training and held back the tears and lumps in my throat, but came home to watch it and cry because this is so touching. I just love it.

I have been going on TH-cam almost everyday checking to see if this got posted after I saw it at work! You really nailed it. The best part of my job is making someone feel better about themselves. I cry every single time I watch this. This poem is a great reminder of why I do what I do. If I'm feeling uninspired, I'll watch this. BOOM. Inspired.

Dear Natalie, this poem is an extraordinary gift to Sephora, I can't thank you enough for contributing your talent, and for this work of art, I have watched it ten times and cry every single time; you've captured the spirit of Sephora and for that, I honor you..
Thank you and I hope to meet you next time you're in SF-- Mel M keeps saying she'll hook us up!

Natalie, this is amazing. thank you! I wasn't expecting any of my training videos to make me emotional, but I started tearing up at this. luckily my beauty manager told me that she teared up during this video too, so I wasn't too embarrassed. ;) this actually captures exactly how I felt as a customer, and how all the wonderful sephora cast members made me feel. now I am just so grateful to have the opportunity to be on the other side. again, thank you!

I just watched this for the first time on Monday during SOS. It hit me so hard, I was teary eyed, and grinning through the entire reading. This is exactly how I feel with guests and clients, way before I started working for Sephora. You put into words what I could never get right. Your words are an inspiration. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thank you so much for this. I complained when I first saw it at work that no one warned me and I was not wearing waterproof mascara. It is beautiful and really does make me feel very appreciated in my job. :)

I saw this video several years ago when I worked for Sephora during a store training/meeting…….. I’m now a store manager and it’s the first video I have my associates watch upon hiring….. I STILL cry every time I see this. Sephora is a lifestyle. ❤

Today was my first day working for Sephora. They showed us this video and I don't think I've ever been so inspired. Thank you! It is such an inspiration and your entire poem was the exact reason I became a makeup artist in the first place. It brought tears to my eyes and love to my heart. It is truly amazing. You are amazing.
    Thank you.

I love your poetry, Natalie...but I also came away with the message that you need make-up to feel beautiful. I understand that you love make-up and how it can make you feel. It is fun to play with. And as someone who used to work at Origins, I can appreciate the support you're giving the employees. But we need to support women in feeling beautiful as they are naturally...not only if they are wearing the right make-up. This is just as important as supporting women to love their bodies, regardless of size. It could be compared to the message that you can only feel beautiful, if you're wearing Spanx and the perfect slimming outfit. As close to the Beauty Ideal as possible.

Beautiful! This made me cry when I saw it at work, and it makes me cry today. Thank you so much for reminding me how much I love what I do. Helping people is more than just putting makeup on them. To some of my clients that grew up their entire lives never feeling even remotely pretty, now come up to me thanking me for helping them discover that they too can "look pretty". Its emotional how I can move a person's self esteem with just a little bit of makeup.
    xoxo,
    Cristy :')

Thank you, Natalie! Your words mean so much to us. I read this several times last year, and on some days, it was the only thing that kept me going. Now watching you deliver it in person...gives me chills! We are so lucky to have your voice! THANK YOU!!

Natalie, thank you so much for writing this beautiful poem. I'm a recently hired Sephora cast member and watching this video in orientation made me bawl wonderful tears. I have been passionately sharing your poem and this video with many. I believe strongly in the message you've so genuinely conveyed and am looking forward to checking out more of your work. Grateful to Sephora for introducing me to you and your gift, and to you, again, for sharing that gift with all of us. Much love from Kansas City. Xo

So preying on people's insecurities to make a dollar is what society deems "beautiful and inspiring"? It's sad that so many people are brainwashed into thinking this is acceptable. So by these standards, once the makeup comes off, back to feeling insignificant.

    • @nataliepattersonpoetry
      @nataliepattersonpoetry  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

ClubofDutch Makeup is a fun and artistic way one can express themselves. There are many people who don't wear makeup and feel just as beautiful as those who enjoy exploring the many options one has with makeup. I want to encourage people to deal with how they feel about themselves and get the support they need to live life to the fullest.
