Dynaudio is excited to take the wraps off its new Contour i series - an extensive update to the winning 2016 Contour range.
The family has been totally overhauled under the hood with advanced acoustic technology trickled down from the flagship Confidence range. And the results are plain to hear.
“We didn’t do it because we had to, we did it because we wanted to,” says Otto Jørgensen, Product manager. “Basically, this is what happens when you leave our engineers alone with a speaker - they can’t help but improve it. We gained so much knowledge during the Confidence project that we simply had to share it with Contour. And we’re absolutely thrilled with the results.

@@Studioincar, no worries mate, will do. I can remember living from week to week and month to month while I worked in the high fi shop building turntables and doing mods on gear and other turntables. It was hard but my boss continues to press on even in our brutal economy. He’s a genius and a steadfast soul. I miss working for him but even I must make a living and have insurance. Life can be hard so make the best decisions you can so you can continue to fight for high end!
These are perfect! The bass is incredible for this size.

I'm listening to the exact same set right now. (Sold then traded back in for Focus 50 Active).. Listening to RAYE and the Heritage Orchestra, they're a wonderful speaker. Playing with a ROSE RS520 streamer/amplifier.

I was going for Dali rubicons recently, then i heard Dynaudio evoke 30's and i couldnt believe the difference, im going to have to listen to these 20i's and make a decision 🤔
Yes your rite , Dynaudio are in a different league ,cost more ,but worth every extra penny for that step up in refinement.
Could you tell me ,Are the contour 20i going to be a step up from the evoke 30's and would i still get a decent low end 🤔

I'm curious about the sound difference between Contour 20 and 20i.
For me, I feel the biggest change was a combination of larger sound stage with even more detail almost to being too forward going to the 20i.... I had a love hate relationship in the beginning but after long break in the "i" upgrade is truly awesome

Then, what do you think is the disadvantage of Contour 20i?
@amourtiger5018 In the beginning they can come off bright or forward. They are not forgiving of bad equipment. I changed my emotiva for a rotel, then from rotel I went to Michi and finally they sounded good. I let them run all night and all day for 4 days straight and they started to finally break in.

Hello! I’m thinking of buying a Dynaudio Standmount speakers. Why should I choose Contour 20i instead Special Forty? Are contour so superior to justify the difference in price? Thank you!!
I see Plinius gear on the rack about to run these? I'm considering buying the Contour 20's and will be running them off a Plinius 9200. I'm thinking Plinius and Dyn will be a good match? Any thoughts?

Hello, Can you tell me what would be the model of DA speaker stand to be used with this New Dynaudio Contour 20i speaker. Which model Subwoofer would you recommend to pair with these Contour 20i speakers. Thanks in advance.
Have had these on order for 2 months.. did you get the prototype and they had to cut down the trees / molt the metal to produce these? Thinking of canceling at this point and going a different route..
Looks great! Do you think that it would perform well on a 40 m2 living room without losing the bass energy and SPL?

@Car Guy daddyo Need advise pls., for that room mentioned above with your experience, do you think 20i is more that enough or should I consider the 30i ,or even the 60i?
I like many have been bitten by the upgrade-itis bug and really want the 60i Contours. (Heard they are going to be amazing). Will they require more juice than what my amp can give? (Nain SN3).

I bet my 20year old Ruarks would sound more natural. Dynaudio set out a progect and allow so much for develoment, I was never a fan of the muddy bass sound, still each to their own..
