Oh how fun! Metal clay is next on my list to experiment! I already have the clay and a few tools I bought from you guys and I have a small kiln that I got for enameling last year (still new to enameling and still obsessed!). This product is on my wishlist for sure! Looks so satisfying! I love the signet shape. I learned wax carving a few years ago and absolutely loved it but I’ll never have all the equipment I need in house for that and frankly I’m too impatient to wait for my designs to come back from the casters 😂!
If you don't have a dehydrator, could you use a convection oven or a hair dryer into a box with a hole cut into it and a digital thermometer to make sure it doesn't get above 45°C/115°F?
Hello, if you don't have a dehydrator, we recommend letting the clay air dry. Clément has created instructions to go along with The Ring Maker, including drying information, which you can find here: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0596/7092/1404/files/The_Ring_Maker_2023_INSTRUCTIONS_DIGITAL_ENG-2.pdf?v=1732635983 Hope this helps!
Metal clay does not always require a kiln, as there are fine silver clays that can be torch fired, such as Art Clay Silver and Phoenix Torch Fireable Clay. Clément will actually be teaching in person classes at the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show in February using The Ring Maker and Phoenix. Do you always need a kiln to fire the clay or is there a clay that we can use in that ring maker that won’t need to be fired? 💝🥰
Ask AI or Google how to fire metal clay. There are multiple options.
