@@robot32879 appreciate it bro. I was thinking of including them but I just went with give or take more well-known sets throughout the years. Not that crown knights aren’t noticeable. Thanks for your comment!
Enjoyed the video. However would the 3 in 1 set not be considered a “castle “ set even though it doesn’t come from a castle theme like the others? I like the modular features in it as well.
@@rogerorr9625 I believe it would 100%. I just thought it not as relevant to mention when in comparison with direct castle themes. Although, in hindsight an honourable mention or a brief adage would’ve been good too. Thanks for watching the vid bro!
I would disagree that “Lego has captured the Medieval image perfectly”. Lego has gotten people to think that Medieval Castles were grey. That’s untrue. Most Castles were white, the stone being whitewashed, in order to protect and insulate. Designs were also painted onto the whitewash in some cases. Some castles (not a majority) were of colors and various shades of blues, reds, and yellows. So no, Lego has not captured the Medieval image perfectly at all.
@@MichaeldeSousaCruz I can see where you’re coming from for sure. My reasoning for that statement is the evolution of castles from the early 80s,90s, and early 2000s that like you said were far too colorful to be realistic. And even though the most recent castle, the lion knights, is grey, I’d argue it’s the most realistic and most evolved of the entire brand. That’s where I was going with it, not necessarily realism but comparing each castle in the 50 year history to each other, looking at their over all progression. Which I believed has evolved substantially, just my opinion though!
@legomanifester I agree with you that, in design, the Lions Knight Castle is far superior. We’re in a very lucky time, a golden age for Lego design. The pieces we have now are amazing, and the things that some people can build with what we have blows my mind at times. Ironically, color is what got me out of my Lego “Dark Ages”, the Medieval Marketplace from 2009, with its Tudor design, light blue and brick yellow walls. Lego Kingdoms was a nice series. The following Castle series was a major step backwards. What are your thoughts on the fan-designed/inspired Ideas Medieval Blacksmith?
@ Yeah there’s no doubt the sets we have now are far superior, even if some argue that the classic themes are ‘better.’ I’ve only recently gotten into castle, maybe 2-3 years ago with the release of the lion knights, it brought me back to my childhood because my uncle had the old 1984 set still around that I would always play with. As for the blacksmith, I would have loved to pick that up too with its solid design and finish, however, for accuracy’s sake I’m not so sure a blue roof would’ve have been a thing. I believe LEGO added that mainly to represent the black falcons and their faction colors.
@legomanifester I grew up with those classic themes, had the 1984 King’s Castle, Black Falcon Fortress, etc., and I’m of the opinion that what we have now is far superior 😂 The Medieval Blacksmith is a great set. I hope you get one eventually. I made a lot of changes to mine, the beauty of Lego and Pick-a-Brick! Yes the roof, is definitely for the Black Falcons colors with the Bright Blue. The Earth Blue and Black though look like shades of slate. Sand Blue would make a nice addition too
Well made video keep it up!
@@RioBricks appreciate it man thank you!
Hope you enjoy!
Awesome video, I picked up the Lions Knight Castle a few months ago and it’s amazing!
@@connersmith1987 Thanks man. I got the lion castle back in 2022 for myself when it first released. It’s the best Lego set ever made in my opinion.
forgot about the crown knights castle from 2008 set 7094. W video though love lego castles.

@legomanifester no problem. Can not imagine how long a video would be if all were included… 😁
