I disagree narratively. Spoiler: A character's death does not render the impact they had on a narrative null. If done well it *adds* to that impact, which Nobara's most assuredly did exactly that. Gege made it narratively clear throughout the story that it wasn't a normal shonen "Everybody Lives" after all.
@@HeartLockHex Sakura Haruno has had a more developed arc compared to Nobara Kugisaki from mainly due to the difference in the amount of screen time and character development each has received. Sakura starts out as a character with her own weaknesses and insecurities, but over the course of the series, she undergoes significant growth, both in terms of her abilities as a ninja and her emotional maturity. She trains under Tsunade, one of the legendary Sannin, and gradually becomes a skilled medical ninja with formidable strength. In contrast, Nobara's potential as a character wasn't fully explored. She had a strong introduction and showed promise with her unique cursed technique and personality. However, her development was cut short by her abrupt death, which occurred before she could experience significant growth or showcase the full extent of her abilities. The impact of her death on the plot and other characters was also limited. This was especially true since Yuji, was already dealing with a lot after Nanami died. Nanami's death hit Yuji hard, making him question himself and what he was doing. When Nobara died shortly after, it didn't really change Yuji’s situation-it didn’t add anything new to what he was going through. So, her death seemed unnecessary because the story could have continued with Yuji dealing with the impact of losing Nanami alone.
Really, Team 7 as a whole sucked and the main group in JJK is fantastic. Team 7 spent much more time both in-universe and irl split apart than together, and even the Toonami announcer summed them up with, "There are too many I's in this team." Comparatively, I have seen very little of Jujutsu Kaisen so far but already feel so much more chemistry within the main team. Kakashi was a lousy teacher; mainly focusing on Sasuke, foisting Naruto off on Ebisu before he found Jiraiya, and just completely neglecting Sakura. Gojo's goofiness makes him come off more like a senpai than a sensei, but at least closer to his own students. As for the kids themselves, one trio just seems so much healthier than the other. Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura looked the most like actual friends in a literal filler episode about Kakashi's mask. Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry escalated and actively egged Sasuke into defecting and becoming a villain; and the other two's obsession with getting him back even seemed unhealthy to many readers/viewers. Whereas Yuuji, Megumi and Nobara do seem to have some actual banter and more fun playful moments.
JJK is definitely the superior series in my opinion as well. Though Naruto will always hold a special place in my heart as one of the three anime that introduced me to japanese animation. But the most notable difference to me was just Sakura and Nobara. At least the other characters in Naruto got some measure of development (aside from the side characters). Poor Sakura just got left in the dust. Thanks for the comment and your thoughts! Hope you watch more!
I really wanted to see Inner Sakura make an appearance in shippuden and have it been a second personality that could cast genjutsu while sakura was doing something else. Like she could be healing someone, and the other personality would use genjutsu to support her allies or hide herself and the person that she was healing. I agree that both of those things seemed like missed opportunities that were completely forgotten about in shippuden and they could have made her a really interesting and unique character. Since almost every other character can only cast one jutsu at a time (without clones) it would have helped her to stand out more and make her seem more significant ability wise
There was quite a few options to go with for her in Shippuden and the War Arc. It's unfortunate what it turned into by the end though. At least I'm told in Boruto she's alright, but I won't ever be watching that to clarify those opinions for my own! Thanks for the comment!
Something JJK does quite well honestly is that all their characters feel fantastic for the most part. Though the latest chapters have felt a bit... rough.
Sakura haruno had every ingredient to be the blue print of how to write a shonen female character and this is coming from a proud and a hardcore sakura haruno hater
