      Keith Hopper better than your paid play Scam Newton, he was the only reason that cow school got a national championship and I guess Auburn bought their championship.

    And the team went 1-9, lol. Bear learned not to run them into the ground the next year, and they won more games.

    Don't know if he was the greatest coach, but he was the best at getting his players to play hard for him. I had one like that in high school.

    even gene stallings and bill curry said that the movie went way overboard with portraying him.

    I was just telling my cousin about this movie. He is named after bear. Name is in the books at the Bear Bryant museum at Alabama.

    Bear Bryant believed that the best way you can the most out of Your Players is to get under their skin.

    Bryant was obviously a very successful coach, but it makes me cringe that a single coach anywhere might look at his methods and reduce water breaks for players. And this is all over 50 years ago. He had offensive linemen well under 200 lbs at the college level, and today the best high schools have 300 pound linemen. Add that in with the potential for hotter summers and the growing concern over frequent head injuries and it's a scary picture.

      Junction wasn't nearly as bad as the movie made it out to be. Even the players who were there will tell you that. Bryant's methods there were no different from the majority of coaches of his era.

    There's something you outta know. I was an end at Bama....played four quarters against Tennessee dragging a broken leg. Now what is this shit about an elbow?

  • @Jiltedin2007
    @Jiltedin2007 12 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    ABSOLUTELY NOT! And when you see any of 6 National Championships Bear Bryant brought to Alabama, and quite possibly two more had they have not the Orange Bowl in 1971 and 1974. People like him are what makes Sports Competition what it is today! Alongside him, I could also put George Steinbrenner, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan. PEOPLE WHO HATE TO LOSE!

    • @ezmoney5087
      @ezmoney5087 ปีที่แล้ว

      And he was robbed of 1966 BAMA was the only undefeated, untied team, and again in '77 they should of at least had a share of the championship with ND. And again in 1950 when BRYANT coached KY, they beat Oklahoma 13-7 but the voters had voted OU #1 before the bowl game similar to BAMAs '73 championship vs ND

    Bear could had bo Jackson at Alabama but he didn't play freshmen instead Auburn beat bama bears last year.Hell he was still 19-6 against Auburn
