I love that you play the same song with all of the guitars. Some video reviewers will play a different song with each model (are they bored???) so you don't get an apples-to-apples comparison. Thanks!

I'm an FG owner. I had stopped playing guitar for a while and picked the FG up about 7 years ago. I was surprised by the sound I was getting out of my $200. There's simply no company lime Yamaha with the attention to detail and bringing out amazing acoustics from a guitar. I don't think anyone will regret getting several Yamaha acoustics.

They now have the super handmade LL56 and LL86. They cost $5000 to $8000 or ? and sound beautiful. There is no cutaway option that I can find on these high-end models.Yamaha also don't tell you the string spacing at the saddle from high E to low E. They also don't tell you the neck girth at 1st fret tapering up to 12th fret.

I have been playing for 30 years and have to say that my two guitars that I play in public are the FG800 and the FG830. The FG800 is for most songs played but for songs that need a lot of low end I play the FG830. I started with a Taylor 110e and a Martin both great guitars bit I switched to Yamaha guitars 18 years ago (much better priced guitars) I am not ashamed at all about Yamaha guitars sound. Great review

Bro... Yamaha is a special guitar. It's hard to put into words. I guess because you pick up a Martin Eric Clapton acoustic, and because it's almost $4000, you're not overly impressed. It's great, but you're like"yeah, this guitar is really nice". Pick up a Yamaha, and there's some emotions going on there. My first "good" guitar was a Yamaha, and I fell in love with that thing, and regret selling it. Since then I've owned some random guitars like "blueridge", I owned a mid 70's martin classical. I had a gibson parlour (g1 or something??) and a gibson country western. But sorry, my 3 yamahas I've owned have been special. They are silly good for the price.

I've owned the APX600 for two years now, love the sound when plugged into my Fishman Artist 120 amp.
I previously owned two Taylor's (300 and 400 series) and a Westerly made Guild, I sold them all after plugging in my new APX600.
The Taylor's and Guild had a bit better action but the amplified sound was the reason I sold them both.

Very good video, Personally, I liked the A series. Very nice smooth sound down low with nice balance in the sound overall. It also looked to me that the more that is put into the instrument, the easier you found them to play, always hitting the notes clean with the more expensive instrument. I really enjoyed watching you play the difference, this was very educational. What nice guitars Yamaha make.

I bought the FG830,new player,I am 65. I am finding the action is too heavy. Sending the guitar in to get it lightened up,thinner strings. As a beginner with arthritis in fretting hand (and no calauses, yet) I was finding it too hard to practice for more than 5 minutes (I have to hold the strings down so hard, strings felt like they were cutting into my fingertips). Having action adjusted does not indicate a problem with the instrument. I am excited to get it back and start practicing again. For now it is "music theory"

The fx was also an amazing sounding guitar (especially for the price), but the LL made it sound like a first act guitar from wal mart lol. 100% well worth the money. Sounds better than most 2-3k dollar martins and Taylor’s, definitely sounds better than a hummingbird as well. I won’t play anything but Yamahas when it comes to acoustics. The Yamaha details make a lot out of it and the special microphone effects in the electronics, but just as you are getting excited and thinking you can get all this at the cheaper price you notice almost in the small print that it’s Not in the A1 or AC1 models. I appreciate your good work but chords are where it's at the Cs and fs and g's e minor b minor demo's would have suited me better

Honestly, Yamaha makes the best entry level acoustic guitars on the market.

I've an old APX4A and a new APX700II. Lovely guitars but as they're aimed at electric players, they could do with a lower action set up. Both of mine have had the bridge set up lowered.

Where do the yamahas sit in relation to the martin and taylor guitars when comparable in price? .

    • @azorailke6057
      @azorailke6057 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

IMO dollar for dollar, Yamaha beats the big names by a lot. i.e. a $1000 Yamaha will beat a $1000 Taylor/Martin. And the thing is that a ridiculously priced Yamaha doesn't exist, unlike Taylor/Martin.

I’ve had a Yamaha for years now but just got a Martin and I have no intention of getting rid of it just because I have the Martin now. Yamaha’s have some really good quality guitars at great prices. While most of them aren’t made in Japan, Yamaha is a Japanese company and are very particular about producing quality products. I’d say you can pay much less for Yamaha and still get a well built and great sounding guitar. If you’re on a tighter budget, Yamaha is a great option.

They are nice sounding guitars...I had a new $400 acoustic electric fender ...traded it in for a $300 acoustic electric Yamaha....the tone of the Yamaha is so much better...they said fenders acoustic have improved in the past couple years and they probably have ...but not up to the awesome True Tone of a Yamaha

    Can Yamaha fgx800c be taken?
I first looked for this guitar and fgx820c . I couldn't get it so I thought I would take either Cort mr600f or mr710f
Both the Cort mr 600f / mr 710f guitars are very good in terms of specifications.
Now available on Yamaha fgx800c. How is this guitar for intermediate or advance player?

Hi Chris I would like to ask you about Yamaha Guitars , are they collectible ? I’m looking at a vary nice FG-301 1975 it’s $400 Orang label made in Japan I think. I’m in the Philippines and have been looking for information about these but I don’t see much about them . The guitar is in excellent shape I don’t see any blemishes . What’s your feeling about this guitar

What Yamaha full-size classical guitar has a solid spruce top? Does the C-317? How bout the 225's? I had a 200-series that was stolen.. Was given to me. I don't think it had a solid spruce top.. Not sure
