You could see the surprise and curiosity on their faces. This is exactly why monkey world is great. Every episode makes a tear of joy fall from m face. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Lol

I have owned all seasons of Monkey Business and the first 12 seasons of Monkey World (on vimeo) and was so sad when the later seasons were no longer beyond agreed to the platform. I watched those first 12 seasons dozens of times. A couple of friends knew of my obsession and made it possible to visit Monkey World for the first time in 2019 during a trip to Glastonbury. I got to see my sponsored monkey Fred, the Geoffroy's marmoset. I'm so so glad to finally be watching the next season. Toprish made me cry!
I just dropped a tear when Toprish entered the enclosure, I've literally watched it 5 times. What patience and thinking done by the staff. You guys must be so proud of her because I know I am. I'm so grateful I found this show and I hope everyone has a great night
@@douglasenzor48 No, that's Kalu, Toprish was rescued before Kalu, she is the pretty, skinny chimp that was thoroughly scarred by her previous living arrangement. Poor little thing had no clue how to behave around other chimps, not even sure if she knew what they were or that she is one.

Oh, the wooly, so worrying. At once, your heart is all in, even if you're head is saying be cautious. Saving one animal won't change the world, but it will change the world for that one animal. I am enthralled by the gibbons, primarily their strength; hanging their fully body weight by one arm and swinging thru the canopy = "super" gibbons. I had tears of delight... as Toprish came out of the tunnel and onto the soil to touch the red dot - then bravely moved forward, what a success, both for her and the staff. I am overjoyed, as you obviously were. Just a beautiful sight. Bravo!
I don't know what kind of sad trauma you've encountered, in your personal life. But human beings get treated with loads of compassion every day. All over the world. Of course there are exceptions, but you can't go through life thinking it's the rule. All I can say is ask for help if you are in need of it. There are plenty of people and agencies that will geve you a hand.
We used to have a Woolly Monkey about 50 years ago. My mom rescued it from a pet store in Washington DC. It was a baby stolen from the jungle and its mother and was sick with a crushed finger. My mom bought it on impulse which was VERY unusual for her. But her actions saved its life. Some day I might write a book about his life.
Congratulations to Monkey World team and Toprish. It made me cry watching her finally take her steps outside. I am very sad to have found out that Toprish has passed away not long ago. This just shows how important it is to save as many as possible. At least Toprishs last several years of her life was as good as possible and she was in the next best place that she could obviously the best place for all these animals would to be back in the wild where they likely stolen from, unfortunately they can not return to the wild but at least these primates have next best place with a dedicated care staff that does everything they can to make life better for these primates. Hopefully one day there won't be a need for places like monkey world but till then thank God they do exist. Thank you Monkey World and to the other facilities like them that are dedicated to helping these beautiful animals.
Well said. It's so sad when a primate there passes but it lifts my spirit knowing they had some semblance of a natural life surrounded by others of their own kind and by such caring staff that truly loves and appreciates them. It amazes me that many of them even survive as long as they do considering the horrible conditions they came from. Just shows what love and selfless dedication can do. It would be a glorious day if sanctuaries of any kind would no longer be needed.

If you notice, these women don't spend a lot of time on their appearance. She probably just wanted her hair up and out of the way. They said she had been up all night caring for the injured baby. I don't think her hair was a priority. You are right in that you don't see women of her age in ponytails much. She wasn't going to be seen by anyone but the other staff. And the animals.... I truly hope the precious little baby will recover. She's adorable! ❣️🌷❣️
This is my first time watching and what an amazing video. When they said she hadn't been out in a year I was taken back a bit. A year? It shows you the level of restraint they are capable of. Seeing her go out there was amazing and the male being ever so careful with her. Who knew they could be so compassionate? What a difference proper care can make.

I think monkeys are just so precious,i have always loved them. As a little girl,my mom would take me to the zoo and everytime we were at what they called "monkey island" i knew i could have went through the moat they had around it and I always asked my mom if I could go over and play with the monkeys. She always sadd no,i just couldn't understand why, the water wasn't deep at all. Even today watching as many videos here I still wonder what keeps them from getting out. I've seen them swim.

Bart has become the kind of boy you proudly present to your parents. He was such a naughty little guy, but he's matured into a sweet leader of his troop, despite his diabetes.
I am so proud of Toprish for having the courage to overcome her fear of going outside. She's a very brave little chimp. You go girl. And she didn't even just go outside and cower in a corner somewhere or just stay out for one minute and then rush back to the safety of her bedroom. She was EXPLORING. She looked relaxed and curious. And she wasn't scared of the other chimps in the space. She even let her buddy Bart show her around the outside.
I love to watch the delight in their faces when they discover things and realize that they are safe and will never have to worry about what humans might do to them or make them do things that they don't want to do. Having a job at Monkey World is my dream come true. Thank you for sharing these wonderful stories about the primates you rescue and showing us just how much your hard work and dedication to help them recover and realize their dream of never having to worry about being abused ever again.

Awe the poor baby woolie monkey. I truly hope and pray that she's ok. With no brain damage. That will be so sad. I think that the Female woolie that gave birth to her and then violently rejected her shouldn't be allowed to have any more babies. Especially since this is the 2cd baby that she's rejected. They need to give her birth control to prevent anymore pregnancies. I understand that this is an extremely endangered species, but she won't be helping raise the numbers if she's going to beat and try to kill the infants. She will actually just be causing a fleet of special needs baby woolies that someone will have to care for them, if they can, and find a place for that care to happen. The damaged babies will become damaged adults who will not be able to procreate and be released back into the wild. Whew that was a mouthful. LOL.

Its weird seeing an adult her age with pig tails unless its Halloween i know its not and this is a weird comment its the first thing i noticed and just keep getting distracted older women me included dont look pretty cute professional or ok with pig tails after a certain age my friend just pointed out some different styles maybe hes right but this style high up and short absolutely not it looks like she was playing with her granddaughter or something or sectioning her hair to cut or dye do something with it and got called about an emergency and had to leave her place immediately
So sad to hear. At least she had a lot more freedom and care before she passed. Considering she was left in a small cage for a very long time before coming to MW.

Its weird seeing an adult her age with pig tails unless its Halloween i know its not and this is a weird comment its the first thing i noticed and just keep getting distracted older women me included dont look pretty cute professional or ok with pig tails after a certain age my friend just pointed out some different styles maybe hes right but this style high up and short absolutely not it looks like she was playing with her granddaughter or something or sectioning her hair to cut or dye do something with it and got called about an emergency and had to leave her place immediately
