Only 5 percent of the church stood against V2 during the council and they were very vocal. We see the same thing happening today where a few people stand against what the church is doing yet they are very vocal.

How interesting that tradition in Greek has a very direct connection to something referred to in Revelation.

I really don't see anything wrong with what you have described, it's a very positive recovery of the origin church in the beginning. The priests and church hierarchy shouldn't be driven by sin, but by holiness. NO Greed, no snobs , no hate. It should Never be a cause of suffering. Sounds Good to me!

Nowhere was the Latin Mass abrogated or the Gregorian and Latin in even the new Mass. This is a bastardization of the intention of the Council

I don’t buy into his view on Ecumenism and some aspects on other aspects. I studied an MA level course on Vatican-II and I can tell you that becoming Catholic is entering into the Fullness of Christianity.

Dennis G please be specific less your comments are thought of as straw men. Cue to 6:40. Triumphalism does not make for sound ecclesiology or ecumenism

No doctrine defined at V2, the Council was only pastoral.

Then why are some of the documents called "dogmatic constitution"? That's just one of the many contradictions in the documents 😏

Protestant becoming Catholic is a shift in position within the church
Is it into a higher position or an equal but different position?

sherin raj excellent question. To be fair to the Council fathers they would have thought into a more fuller expression of all that is meant by “Church.” We could say fuller in terms of both the sacramental and institutional/hierarchical aspects in the Church, but the Holy Spirit and the moral aspect is available to all in Christ. We have only begun to taste what ecumenism is.

    • @CherubimCreations

It would be coming into the fullness of the Faith, since Jesus sends The Holy Spirit through The Sacraments, such as Confirmation and Anointing of the Sick, which is only Catholic/Orthodox. Read the CCC.

I feel that the Vatican II documents have been somehow misunderstood by this presenter. These Protestants call Catholics idol worshipers, many of them preach salvation by faith alone and that once saved always saved meaning that sins cannot prevent one from going to heaven because salvation is based on the alien righteousness of Christ. How can the Spirit teach opposing doctrines in the same body of Christ? They do not believe in the sacrament of confession which means when they die they die in numerous mortal sins. The Catholic Church teaches that those who die in that state cannot get to heaven because according to Revelation nothing unclean shall enter heaven. Martin Luther himself said one can commit murder and adultery 1,000 times a day and cannot lose salvation. How can we be of the same body? He even condemned the book of James calling it an epistle of Straw. No. I do not buy what this presenter is saying. This is a total misrepresentation of what the Vatican II documents actually say.

You're absolutely right. I've read the VII documents, and this guy is just continuing the lies of VII.

Yes, this presentation seems to be a misinterpretation of the documents. Much of what he said was true, but without proper distinctions and detail could be taken as a contradiction to the faith. He claimed that VII changed fundamental understandings of Catholic thought. That cannot be the case as it would be a rupture.

VII radically redefined ecclesiology. They also lied when they said that we worship the same God with pagans.
And what was so wrong with the rituals for the sacraments that they all had to be changed?! If it ain't broke don't fix it! Unless you want to change it's meaning, which amounts to a change in doctrine.

  • @vivacristorey4363

No offense, but this is not a true summary of how to interpret properly VII documents. You made it sound as though the Catholic Church sees Protestantism as equal to itself. And you did not make enough distinctions about what is meant by God speaking through other religions. You also claimed that the Catholic Church changed how it saw the Jews. That is bearing false witness, as the Catholic Church has never held the Jewish people to be solely responsible for Christ's death and has always taught that He died due to all of our sins.

    • @zanzer386
      @zanzer386 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

Bahhhhh. Talk about spiritual bypassing & justification. Ya’ll DO accuse the Jews privately of killing Christ…within familes, within churches, there is DEFINITELY some low key anti-semitism going on…I mean every Passover play/easter play I’ve ever been at the “audience” playing the “crowd of Jews” in the play scream “crucify him crucify him” so even if they don’t say it specifically anyway in teachings, every year, it surely is insinuated that the Jews killed Christ. And every year, a whole lotta Catholics also watch the passion of the Christ, which is a big Catholic propaganda piece against the Jews. So say what u want, the message is being sent to folks!
