ಸಫಲ ಏಕಾದಶಿ ವ್ರತದ ಕಥೆ

The story of Saphala Ekadashi is about a prince named Lumpak who was banished from his kingdom and later became a devotee of Lord Vishnu:
The prince's life Lumpak was the eldest son of King Mahishmat of the city of Champavati. He was known for his bad behavior, including being a womanizer, consuming meat, and criticizing the gods, Brahmins, and Vaishnavs. His father eventually banished him from the kingdom.
Lumpak lived in the forest, eating meat and fruit, and sleeping under a large, ancient peepal tree. The tree was considered sacred by the people of the forest, and was thought to be home to a great god.
The prince's encounter with the tree
One night during the tenth day of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Poush, Lumpak was unable to sleep due to the cold. When he woke up in the morning, he was in a state of delirium. When the sun came out later in the day, he regained consciousness.
The prince's realization
Lumpak gathered fruit to eat, but the sun had already set. He placed the fruit at the base of the peepal tree and prayed that Lord Vishnu would be pleased with them.
The prince's transformation
Lumpak had unknowingly observed the Saphala Ekadashi fast, and was rewarded with a divine form, a son, and the kingdom. He ruled the kingdom for many years, and eventually handed it over to his son. He then went into the forest to serve Lord Vishnu, and eventually attained moksha.
