- Miss Cambodia 2022 just crowned Manita Hang as their new titleholder who will represent Cambodia during Miss Universe 2022. This is my first reaction ever to Miss Universe Cambodia and I have to admit I am very pleased with the 2022 edition. Manita Hang seems to have all the right assets in order to succeed during Miss Universe 2022 so Cambodia is in good hands.

They include English on that pageant because the National director is Filipino and also most of the judges. And fun fact, the winner will also train in the Philippines under Kagandahang Flores. 🇵🇭

You're right. There are Filipinos in the judging panel as well as their choreographers amd the National Director of the pageant. No wonder the production and quality of the girls were so great.

I recognize her orange gown. It think it was the gown Miss Earth Philippines Roxy Baeyens wore during Miss Earth 2020 preliminary gown? I guess Rian Hernandez was the designer and made the Top 2 contestants of MUC2022 wear his creations. Indeed the MUC2022 pageant is inspired and driven by Filipinos. I am so happy for MUC Organization.

Tbh, I don't see her on top 5 yet, maybe top 10 highest placement. There are many Latinas to beat this year who can penetrate top 5, the only asian I see in top 5 now is Philippines which turns out to be the best in Asia so far. But Cambodia has the potential if they train her walk and such. So yeah, top 10 for now, its early to say shes gonna place top 5 since vietnamd and thailand hasn't done their finals yet.

Thanks Luis for your sweet reaction! Manita sure does have a potential to compete at Miss Universe. However, I have a few critics for the show's production as well:
- During evening gown, all the girls wore their sash, which was disturbing to really appreciate fully the designs of the dress. In MU or MUP, during the coronation night, the contestants showcase their gown without wearing sash at all. It surprised me a bit, since the national director of MUC is a Filipino.
- During he announcement, the top 5 changed from their own unique designed gowns to wear the Filipino designer's gown. All the gown were all in orange color to fit the color of the sponsor's product. For me, this is a bit disrespectful towards the local designers. The show should uplift the work of art of the local designers and allow the girls to showcase their uniqueness on stage during the very important moment.
Apart from this, the show was definitely better than the previous edition. The contestants were very strong. I do support that the inclusivity of English language is actually a smart move because it can catch a lot of attention from international pageant viewers. Congrats to Manita and can't wait to follow your journey to the MU!
