    Currently rocking the BHP FM Bux preset 1 from you, Michael, and run into it with the MGAT-1. Very, very nice. I mean, this is so tube sounding, unbelievable. Imagine we'd have this tech in the 80s when I started recording.

    Hey Michael Nielsen. Great video as always.
    The Bogner Helios 100w is definitely calling your name for a demo

    Got one. That’s a good pedal. So many Marshall’s in a box. Took a second but got it down. I’m plugged right into the front of an amp it sounds great that way too.

    I love that these pedals exist, and this one sounds very good, but there's something about a Marshall style head cranked that I don't think will ever be captured completely in a pedal, modelling or plugin. Does indeed sounds good Michael.

      Thanks. I agree. When they’re at their best, a really loud Marshall is hard to beat!!!

    I just got mine, and having it in front of my JMP-1 preamp, it sound great.

    I’m trying to grab one Michael but I’m not sure there’s any left and I can use it plugged into the front I assume? I have the N5’s. Plugged into the front. I love those toggles.

      It was designed as a preamp first, but it does work well as a "pedal" as well.

    Hi! When fed with a clean, noiseless guitar signal, does this Sinvertek N5 MGAT-1 pedal have a hissy noise-floor when in ultra-gain mode?

  • @b.scottfarthingsworth

    Awesome as always Michael. Sounded good, but i'd have to have it here to know if it was great. For now, very happy with the Freidman Smallbox pedal for Marshally stuff. Also, the Sinvertek N5+ and N5+Gold cover the high gain preamp/SLO tones. I'm still on the fence, but sounded pretty good.

    The company website took eons to load, so I never got the price. For my money if you want solid state Marshall tones, go to the source and get an MG series. The naysayers can gripe, but with all analog preamp, 4 digital recallable Channels, FX loop, and digital effects (also channel storable), there isn't much to leave you wanting.
    No tube maintenance, consistent sound, lightweight.
    Many of our favorite albums had solid state all over them.

    • @BigHairyGuitars
      @BigHairyGuitars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, there's nothing wrong with solid state. Even the ADA MP-1 only had 1 or 2 tubes in the signal path, most of it is solid state. The price on the MGAT-1 is 349USD.

      Had the MG series Marshalls as practice amps. Both had problems with the input jack. I gave one to my brother in law. Still have the other one… don’t play it anymore. Got the Boss Katana MKII 50W version on a whim. Better sounding and superior practice amp imo. Loud enough for rehearsals too. Great sounding effects .

      Like it’s too confusing but the Kemper, helix and plug ins and daw split in stereo etc etc isn’t. I have the N5. Just bought and waiting for the silver n5 this version. It’s really not that hard. A few switched of the toggles and your good to go.
