I can relate a lot to this. I've been through the same thing. Growing up football was my passion, hobby and purpose. But you get to a time when you've got to make some tough decisions. I thought deeply about my life and future and stopped taking football seriously. You go from having an identity to having to figure it out aging. But that's the beautiful journey of life and growing up.
yep I remember I came to this crossroads around the age of 16. DIdn't make my high school team, and I felt crushed. Looking back, it was obvious the coach didn't know soccer, and I should've kept at it, but he killed the dream. I still loved the game but I had to think about my career and my future. Fast forward many years later, I started running a year ago to get into shape because I did' have a regular excercise routine. I tried running for a few weeks, and I realized it would be so much more fun if I was chasing a ball playing footy. Started playing pick up every week and it's the best thing I've ever done. I wish I would've never quit playing.
Everything was going well until you called it soccer! All jokes aside, sometimes we go through phases and need time away from things to realise how much we love them, keep it up bro
@ haha unfortunately Americans stole the name and bastardized it... and being from America i default to thinking I’m explaining to an American audience but probably not… 😂.. But yeah my high school football coach was an American Football coach who knew nothing about real football…
I think it’s better to be terrible at football rather to be so talented you can go pro but you don’t because it takes so much time and effort just to be a decent baller yet alone very good. Especially with the fitness.
Hey man i’m a 17yo who needs guidance. I’m in a situation you once were in.Could you please tell us more about your football career growing up and go deeper on why did you quit, if at some point you knew the dream was dead or if you miss the path to pro football and what did it brought you.
hey man my story is little different . i was growing in football and played at a good level within 2 yr of starting but at my prime age covid-19 hit and for 3 yr i maintained my fitness and all but when my dad got covid i had to make a decision and when covid ended it ended a dream . i did everything to prove myself and went against anyone and everyone who Questioned me but uk i think its faith . now when i decided to start football again in collage played some pretty cool match in my 1st yr but 2nd yr of collage i got knee injury (meniscus tear ) and i cant even walk properly .hoping to recover soon and at least i can play football with my friends as a hobby , as a last token of love for football❤
Making the decision for it to be a hobby instead of possible career is heartbreaking man and yeah the injuries are frustrating, i feel you, thank you for sharing with us brother

Of course bro if that would be helpful I’d be more than happy, what is it you’d like to know?

What do i do when the only person who believes in me is already pro, making me feel like i have to reach his expectations?
Consider what you want to do first, others expectations are merely a bonus brother! What do you want to do?
I want to go pro but not as soon as he wants me to
That’s not a decision that’s up to either of you, continue to apply yourself and what’s meant to happen will do because its already written bro
This video scares me because i can relate to you to some degree... But ill still be stubborn...
Don’t be scared brother this was just my experience! Continue to be stubborn with input & see what outcome awaits ahead 🙌🏾
