A series where I will explore Kurdistan and take you with me on the journey. Kurdistan is a country in the Middle East which isn't yet independent. The Kurdistan borders currently lay within Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria. Nevertheless, it's full of Kurds and we are from Kurdistan.
This episode shows the end of our road trip with @BaderkhanAmerBadran and Arya. Coexistence is portrayed through a visit to the holy temple of Lalish, the home of the yezidis and the yezidism religion. Along with this we explore the home and capital of Newroz, Akrê. You also get to see the beauty of dereluk, gali sherana (Ava shin) and the beauty within the cities of Duhok and Zaxo.

I am Haks, a Kurd born in London to two Kurdish parents, mother from Efrîn and father from Slêmanî. I am a proud Kurd and an advocate for my country and I hope to help the world understand Kurdistan, it's beauty and it's struggles.

I am half turkish and half kurdish, I have been told there is no such a thing as kurdistan, but eventually I am here watching and praying that one day I will visit my country KURDISTAN. Although I can only speak a little kurdish cause it is not allowed to teach kurdish in Turkey I am learning online on TH-cam and getting to know my own culture even though some people say it doesn’t have a culture and doesn’t even exist. We say that we are the childeren of those who couldn’t speak turkish and now we can’t speak kurdish.

I've visited Kurdistan 3 months ago, biking a few days and travelling in Erbil and Dahuk areas. Not a single problem.
The highlights: Erbil citadel, the mountains around Rawanduz and Barzan, the yazidite temples of Lalish and the christian village of Al Qosh and monasteries of Rabban Horzmid and Mar Mattai.
I wanna thank the kurdish people for his kindness and above all, the Peshmerga ( they supply me with plenty of water, they help me to find hostels, and carry me and my bike to a town by nigth...).

The last time I visited Kurdistan, I was in a village called Kestay. Myself and a few family members went up a mountain to enjoy a picnic, at the beginning of spring when the snow melts and tulips grow. This was in 2017, when the Turks were intensifying their bombing raids against the PKK, so we would frequently see and hear bombs dropping on our mountains. In the 4 hours I was there, I couldn’t count how many fighters jets I had seen, how many explosions I had heard. It was in this place, regardless of the violence, where I felt most at peace. In no moment did I feel fear, as this was the place I was born and should I die in its arms, so be it. If you are Kurdish, no matter where you are in the world, there is no where sweeter then our homeland, and it will always call your heart.
Our enemies wish for us to live in fear, but we will remain unbroken and tied to the land we call home; Kurdistan.
