For a lot of lore nerds, the eramis plot point is something we've been really looking forward too, because it plays into the larger Eliksni civil war with could likely see the guardians either ally with or completely wipe out the remainder of the fallen. It's bringing together a lot of hanging threads, from Variks to Mithrax to the scorn and probably even kinda sorta maybe Uldren.
@@zeeejay It should by all means be the immediate focus... the Fallen are the race most entangled with Earth. They deserve as much of a chance to defend Earth alongside us. The Eliksni story line is far older than the Hive, and they really need to resolve it because even if Savathun does come and we do defeat her, Xivu Arath still exists... and the last thing we need is to not have allies when the Hive God of War invades in the aftermath of fighting the Darkness and Savathun.
They are literally called the fallen because of that, took me awhile to realise this. Honestly I hope Eremis and her fallen know more about the Traveler than we do, could be very interesting story-wise.
The Traveler didn't fracture the Eliksni, the Traveler left them - leaving them feel abandoned, and caused the Houses to form through infighting among the race. The Eliksni Houses are somewhat like the factions (New Monarchy, Dead Orbit, Future War Cult, etc) should the Consensus not have happened.
Was it not Oryx who pretty much destroyed the Eliksni and forced them to become the fallen? i guess Eremis is blaming the traveler for being asleep while it all happened
@@clashcatastrophe7289 Forsaken is literally peak Destiny though. The best thing they have done since Halo 3. They always come back in the fall though. Maybe I will start playing again
Wanna know what’s crazy in terms of lore? Bungie stuck with one common theme since the beginning of D2, “you will constantly be questioning the light” and now it’s all coming full circle. I remember one line that really made me think from our favorite awoken prince. “The line between light and dark is so very thin, what side are you on?” And what do we hear yet again? That very same line
When I was watching the reveal stream I heard the exo stranger say “the line between light and dark is so very thin” and I immediately thought of uldren and said aloud “do you know which side you’re on?” And then they just threw a curveball and she said “let’s cross it together”
I have had three emotional moments about d2: Cayde saying he is “coming home Ace”, seeing the pyramid ship on the moon and the drifter arriving on Europa. And two out of three of those require some knowledge of law, being Cayde’s son and drifters possible connection to europa
I'd probs do it depending on my characters. Like, always imagined my day 1 hunter being more disillusioned with the light then my House of Wolves warlock or TK Titan
If we had to choose, it will be obvious that 90% of the playerbase would choose the darkness because its new, unless they implement something new to the light aswell (like pure light subclass) to balance our choice.
With all due respect, the dev's did say why erimus, forgot how to spell her name, wants to destroy the city/traveler/guardians. It's because the traveler abandoned her people in the past. At least I'm fairly certain that's the reason
To be honest I’m actually happy we are finally getting a fleshed out story of fallen and I don’t enjoy fallen at all. Of course they pissed traveled left them for us. This seems like a necessary conclusion to the conflict between guardians and fallen.
I haven’t even thought of the final year of this plan being the end. I can’t imagine playing video games and there not being new destiny stuff ever again
Did they say lightfall was the end? It could just be that they didn’t plan further YET. Or it could lead into an eventual Destiny 3 which they also haven’t planned YET.
If they are ever done with Destiny, I hope they release all the content so we got everything. Otherwise, move stuff around is cool. Especially with seasons and stuff. Getting a revamped location is better than getting some public events anyways.
Bungie revealing their plans for 3 years means there's no turning back now. They better commit to what they're doing....not that they've ever backed out before. But it seems they feel very confident. My biggest worry is that their pipeline will mean that they're working on stuff 3 years in advance now and won't incorporate our feedback now into it. It happened in RoI to d2, so don't say it's impossible.
They won't be able to work destiny 2 if they work on a destiny 3 what? That's common sense, as with any sequel the previous entry obviously stops being supported just like destiny 1 is no longer supported so this is no excuse. What is an excuse however is lack of funding especially since Activisions financial backing no longer play apart its understandable. There's no reason to beat around the bush on such a matter, you don't have enough money for a sequel then just say that lol
@@tomoyatoko7262 to be fair in theory they only made destiny 2 for Activision. If things went Bungie's way we'd be on D1 still, D2 would have and should have been an expansion. Of course, the biggest problem there was basically removing 2 games worth of content to support 1, starting over with d2. Apparently they don't actually care since D2y1 is effectively being removed from the game outright now. It's just a hoax to undercut us for more money tbh....
@Tyler Grant Yeah, to develop a new IP, and it was specifically 100 million dollars, but not one of those are going towards Destiny, so it wont make up for the 164 m they spent on getting back Destiny
I mean Eramis vs Variks vs Mythrax has been teased and has somewhat been developing since season of the drifter Its basically a Fallen civil wars of which the result will determine the fate of all the Fallen in a significant way Oh also the fanatic is there somewhere...
@@azizsharaf9466 i dont think he works for Eramis, He doesnt seek revenge over the Traveler therefore he has no reason to go against us. Probably hes put in 'stasis' by Eramis hehe see what did i there darkness...
Variks will likely become a planetary Vendor like Spider, Mithrax will become the Fallen Vanguard rep and playable Fallen since that's been teased since D1 and only further with Mithrax's lore.
Variks house of dusk is definitely an authoritarian monarchy Eramis house of devils/darkness is definitely a neo conservative revolutionary group Mythrax house of light is a counter culture revolutionary movement The Fanatic and the scorn as a whole are an anarchistic revolutionary group who want nothing more than to dismantle everything thats not scorn house of dusk is utterly fuckin doomed despite their numbers, due to the fact that house darkness has the darkness, house light has the light, and the scorn are just horrifying murder zombies, and i PROMISE all of their blades would turn on variks, then mythrax, then each other, in that order.
The difference is Bungie kept on recycling D2 vanilla which got old quick and barely anyone liked D2 vanilla in the first place. Bringing back D1 raids and best looking armor is fine with me.
@@thesteelserpent903 VoG coming back is something in the meantime so that they can keep working on other content, so we don't have to do the same raids. They can't just pump out raids every season. We're getting a new one in fall, VoG will probably be in spring.
Alejandro Tellez I’m not talking about recycled raids specifically. What I really mean is the problem with the overall amount of recycled content from D1 into D2
When they said they were removing up to 4 raids... that really hit me hard. Leviathan is still one of my favorite raids of all time. I wish it wouldve been that the planet was removed, but maybe not the raids.
Revenant dude you think they are vaulting this shit because it makes the game more fun? No, obviously no one wants that even bungie, but it’s clearly necessary if bungie HAS to do it
I don't see why they're removing Leviathan. Nessus is still there. Sure the raids aren't the best but they're good introductions to raiding for newbies.
The way I see the removal of planets and activities is that this is essentially d3, new content and dlc which will, presumably, add more destinations etc and I'm okay with it personally, though I will miss menagerie
All exotics that are tied into a planet area are getting reworked to be earned a different way. Just how New Light gave Riskrunner a mission to earn it.
@@omensoffate At least we know when the expansions are coming out. Also we'll get to the expansions in the next three years, who knows when TES 6 will come out (after Starfield).
I’m only wondering if they’re gonna bring back VoG weapons (Vex Mythoclast, Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence, etc) if they’re gonna bring back the raid itself.
I was excited for Fatebringer again, but i already have Sunshot, and it has a larger mag, faster reload, and far far larger firefly explosion. So they would have to alter it's abilities. We have so many handcannons with outlaw/firefly.
Sounds like they will, but don't expect their former glory. Bungie will probably gut their stats and make them feel like nerf guns just like everything else going from D1 to D2
Robert Richards also, Ace of Spades basically functions like Fatebringer but I guess since Fatebringer had firefly which is now known as dragonfly it will have to be in the energy slot, making it an arc legendary weapon again.
I get the feeling that's one of the big things "Lightfall" has in store for us. Considering that's gonna be the big number three of these expansions and a final title hasn't even been decided (that's a big flag, they wouldn't keep a title on the back burner like that unless they feel the need to be careful with naming this one specifically, and why would they do that if it wasn't like, REALLY big?), it'll likely have a lot to do with DIRECT conflict between light and dark --as if the visuals and current title weren't enough of an indicator-- and whatever events will lead up to either the end of the franchise (unlikely, they signed a contract to go on for ten years with Activision, and now that contract is null because they cut ties with them, plus it hasn't even been ten years yet) or the next full game, as they probably won't wipe Destiny 2's content into the content vault a second time, at that point it would just be replacing the game with the sequel instead of just letting us keep this one and giving us another. I'm honestly kind of concerned about the future of Destiny, Bungie is getting more and more ambitious as time goes on, and expectations keep increasing. I'm afraid that they'll crash eventually, but I'll remain faithful that they will exceed our expectations one way or another.
you will be fighting cheap re-skinned enemy's, just like when we went into the pyramid & the darkness made us fight past boss's, just as they did when they introduced the "taken" same enemy's but with a diff camo..... bungie are cheap
The last two expansions has had unexpected twists, with Forsaken being about Riven and the Taken and Shadowkeep being about a pyramid instead of the Scarlet Hold. They could subvert things again and have Darkness enemies may actually be introduced.
@@ihdiinnotime the taken are literally only the same in models. they play different from every single other enemy in the game, and theres more variety in their faction than any other one. it's not lazy. they just haven't had the need to introduce new enemy types. they brought the scorn in in forsaken, I don't see you complaining about them even though they're just "dark fallen." fuck off man.
Only ”new stuff” being that Europa!? :/ Is it something like 5 % of whole forthcoming game content? If he (I haven’t, btw. So I’m cool with that) has already been playing Destiny 1. ”Please! Give me 5 % more new stuff, and take away 20 % of old stuff”!? Strange?
Bungie: Literally tells us Eramis wants to destroy the traveler for abandoning and scattering her people Datto: NO IDEA WHY SHE'S A BAD GUY *Edit: I is very close to U on the keyboard
ButterLordIII The main reason why they’re called the fallen is because they used to be a proud and prosperous race, but an event known as the whirlwind wiped out nearly everything, leaving the houses scattered and leaving them desperate to survive, resorting to piracy, thievery, etc.
@@ButterLordIII They're "fallen" from grace. That's why Eramis is so interesting, she's gonna be the first of the fallen to actively work WITH the darkness
Eramus is super hardcore too even for the 'evil' fallen, if I remember right I think she docks the arms of one of her dregs by twisting them off in a grimoire card
8:13 I believe her reasoning was explained as a sort of "vengeance" against the traveler, because it has been almost explicitly told that the traveler had abandoned the fallen years ago (the fallen/Eliksni used to call him "the great machine" or something), leading to them splitting and being exiled to various planets and regions. Just speculation though, not much else
Yeah, all this time the fallen were trying to get the traveler back, but Eramis decides to use stasis as a kind of final revenge for abandoning her people.
Yea and if datto doesn’t know even that much about the entirety of the fallen race, then ofcourse he is not going to care about eramis. To him he probably thinks that this storyline is about a random rouge kell using darkness. He doesn’t even know the house of devils motives so he probably isn’t even aware of the amazing story of the fallen civil war between house devils, varik’s house judgment and mithrax’s house light. It’s for sure not a “one off” story.
@@Sukkulents_ Well in reality most of the fallen alive now were born after the whirlwind and they don't know anything about their former glory or the society they used to live in, right now they just fight because that's the only thing they can do to survive, just a few fallen are old enough to remember the old days and what the traveller means for them.
@@Sukkulents_ Eramis harbors an uniquely strong hatraed for the traveler, as she is one of the few remaining fallen from the whirlwind era, so her motivations make complete sense
I’m legitimately gonna miss EP, it’s my favorite thing to do in the game, yeah there are things like it but I like the feeling of being rushed down, fighting back, overcoming challenges, etc I get losses in EP, I don’t think I’ve lost in Well, sometimes in Alters of Sorrow but rarely
The only thing that worries me about removing content is how they decide to bring it back. I have a feeling they will take it out, and a couple months later bring it back and act like its new content for that particular season.
POINT WELL TAKEN, NO PUNDIT INTENDED. MOVE ON FROM RECYCLING EVERYTHING. IF THEY'RE PLANNING DESTINY 3, BUILT IT FROM THE GROUND UP. MEANING BRAND NEW ENGINE, A.I., CHARACTERS ETC.
From what I can imagine Erimus wants to wield the darkness and get revenge against the city and the traveler. She wants this because the traveler left the fallen and sent them into chaos splitting up the once great houses of the fallen.
Eramis tried to take control of siva earlier to destroy the guardians and we stopped her, so now she is taking help from the darkness to destroy us guardians, her beef is not with us guardians in particular but with the traveller who was with the fallen before abandoning them when the darkness arrived there and came to us near earth (for some reason), I think that might be the story beat, basically she is taking revenge on the traveller by destroying those that the traveller is currently supporting
8:12 Because in the fallen's opinion, we "stole the Traveller". They had it on their side but it has left them when it came in our Solar System and now they want to destroy it for betraying them.
Jamari G I kind of think datto doesn’t even know this about fallen lore. It’s literally the whole M.O of the fallen race since forever. If he knew this he should have known why ANY fallen house is out to get it us bad ESPECIALLY the house of devils *Cough the battle of six fronts*. Datto probably thinks eramis is just some random kell wielding darkness and that’s why he thinks this is going to be a “one off” story when in reality this means so much more to the fallen civil war. And in turn might determine who controls the fallen houses. We need house light to win.
Eh, false. It's because Eramis blames the Traveler for the destruction of the Eliksni turning them into the 'Fallen' and seeks revenge on the Traveler and humanity for scattering the once great Eliksni. Eramis doesn't want the Traveler back, she wants to destroy it.
@@ghostrick9824 they want to take it to destroy it.* She, at least. The House of Dusk wants the Traveller back. What they are saying in game "Nash me e xer sha boo" (sorry bad phonetic translation but non-native english speaker here) means "Serve me, Great Machine" (Traveller).
@@JPOG7TV I don't think you understand what the original comment is saying. 1st class is the most expensive and luxurious seat on planes and trains. Datto said he isn't getting 1st class on the hype train because he doesn't think it's that exciting and he is a bit worried about were the train is even going.
You misunderstood. Old contents will be in DCV where you can still enjoy the old stuff. The only difference is that the devs can handle updates and bug fixs significantly faster in terms of software development. You get passed contents and new contents separately, so they can focus on developing new things. This gap gives them a time slot to fix flaws and update new year contents efficiently.
A Wang so is there any way to play the older content, I played the d2 in its first year but couldn’t get into it and as a result I did not finish the main campaign and also there were like these two small dlcs that came with the version that I bought, as of yesterday I bought the two big expansions to get back into the game but this time on pc, so what I’m hoping is can I still be able to play the older content because I don’t want to miss out on anything
A Wang the DCV is not accessible to players until Bungie decides to return vaulted stuff to the game and vault other stuff instead. By your wording it seems like you’re the one who misunderstood. You can’t enjoy old content in the DCV because it’s basically not in the game anymore until they unvault it and bring it back.
I wish they released a definitive edition and call it “The Destiny” or something, to lower the barrier to entry/make it easier for old players to come back(FF14 keeps doing this). I played only up to D1S2/D2S2(enjoyed a lot), I wanna come back and start playing Destiny again but so much has changed and simply don’t wanna invest my time to research and understand what has changed and what I have to do to catch up etc.
I think wait for the reviews on beyond light and if its receieved well it would be a perfect time to come back because you wont have to invest your time into year 1 content and only the big parts of year 2 and 3 content. So less of a time investment!
Bro I’m a day one D1 player (3k+ hours, played on all plats) and d1d2 player as well. Came back literally 2 days back and bought the DLC I had missed since quitting in late 2018 and am having a blast honestly. It was hard to get back into cus it’s so overwhelming but my god man having tons to do and that grind again is what I missed about destiny so I’m having a blast! Come back whenever!
literally the same. i'm a day 1 D1 player, & had grinded some D2 on PS4, came back on PC, did some more things, but eventually, there are just too many different things going on for an old player to get back to. it needs to be streamlined
It’s not very hard to come back into D2 and doesn’t take much research at all. Just play the game and enjoy it. The game tells you what drops powerful and pinnacle so no research for that is needed. As for non powerful leveling up to softcap you can literally do anything you want
Really kinda sad that they’re taking away minagerie, Levi, and scourge. Scourge is my favorite raid I don’t see why they have to take it out and I still haven’t gotten much from crown
A guy On the internet So you wanna leave all you’ve done in d2 behind? Also if they were to make d3 they would have to “kill” d2 and stop supporting it unless you want another d2 where they work on d2 while making d3, also as Noseworthy said SINGLE evolving world not MULTIPLE evolving worlds
Removing destinations it's kinda okay, I can understand why they're doing it. But I'd like if they keep the strikes for the vanguard strikes so we have more to do.
They said that they're removing strikes that are tied to the locations that are being vaulted. They're going to be replaced with new strikes and old (hopefully revamped) strikes from D1.
@@oogabooga5732 @Zoelove I'm pretty sure they said there would be 4 or 6 (can't remember) new strikes coming with the next expansion, with 3 of those I believe being D1 strikes from the Cosmodrome
My guess for the DCV is they will cycle stuff until the end of the life of destiny in which they work on putting everything from D1 and d2 into the game and stabilize it. I’m guessing this will happen after lightfall or when matter starts. Tbh this would be cool and be the best way for destiny to end (if they choose to end it).
Eramis is one of the big players in the Eliksni Civil War 1) Eramis and the Devil Loyalists- Wants revenge on the Traveller for abandoning her people 2) Variks and the House of Judgement- Wants to bring the Eliksni back to their Golden Age, along with all the old ways that came with it 3) Mithrax and the House of Light- Believes that humanity have proven to be better patrons, and believes the Fallen are better siding with them 4) Fikrul and the Scorn- Believes the only way the Eliksni can survive is to evolve into the Scorn. He's basically GoT's Night King
Not gonna lie, I really want to see the return of the Devils along with potentially numerous new/reintroduced Fallen houses. I'm sure it's clear that one way or another, Eramis will be leading her Fallen house as the House of Darkness, considering the steam store page for Beyond Light referred to her as the Kell of Darkness. Additionally, according to the lore connected to the pre-order ghost shell, she apparently -and unexpectedly- discarded the banner of the Devils, clearly implying the evolution of the Devil Loyalists to the House of Darkness. I feel as though some within the Loyalists would disagree with her choice here, as they joined her in an effort to bring back the Devils, not create a new house. The Devils are highly religious, some more than others, so it's quite possible that they wouldn't want to convert to House Darkness because of that. This could lead to a branch of Devil Loyalists seeing Eramis as a traitor, thus revolting against her and her house, further fueling the Eliksni civil war you mentioned. It's quite possible that "1)" on your list could be split in two, which would honestly be amazing to me. House of Devils was always my favorite, and oh god damn it I went on another obsessive tangent lmao my bad
I started playing destiny at 11 years old and if they stretch it to double digits I’ll have my chance at playing it for 10 plus years. Making it to my 20s. It blows my mind thinking about it. I’m so gladd they have a huge story plot, I love this game.
@@beamishglue3993 Nah, it's a trash game, with a trash developer, and it's already dead. Most of the fan base is gone, because of bungie. The game is mostly a meme now with a toddler fan base. Anyone who has played destiny 2 long enough, know better than to expect much. Listen to Dattos tone, he cant even get remotely excited because he knows. Of course the groupie, fan boys will swear no matter what, that this game is soooo good. Bungie could sell them a hot plate of dogshit (see season of the worthy, and pretty much any content not created in a collaboration with other studios) and the smooth brains will lap it up. This season offers little, very little, yet, again. Instead Bungie treats its community like the infant/toddlers they are by jingling keys overhead, talking about years from now, to distract from the fact that once again "seasonal content" is trash.
I forgot where I heard it but agree with the quote "well if they aren't going to make d3 and their gonna keep adding content from d1 as well as as adding new stuff I'm guessing their gonna somewhat adsorb d1 and just have the "Destiny" name if they are going down the mmo route like luke said. I just hope they add more class customization like d1 if they plan on adding d1 stuff.
No Luke said there will be 3 raids playable come September, or the fall dlc at least, and VOG was 1 of them. That means it will be in 2020. The Cosmodrone will probably serve as the 2nd "new" planet to Beyond Light similar to how Forsaken had 2 new locations. I do wish we were getting a full new endgame zone similar to Dreaming City as that was a PHENOMENAL idea and experience, like the "leaked" Pyramid city endgame zone.
Its such a sad thought knowing that destiny is going to end at some point, i mean damn it really put it into context with what datto said about "lightfall". Like holy shit its impossible to tell what will happen but theres an end too everything and there will be too destiny. Its so sad to think about if im honest but we are going to find out i suppose so... Eyes up guardian.
I have no qualms with older content going away. I dont care for Io, Mars is alright I guess, Titan is neat enough(we'll miss Greg), and SCREW MERCURY. If this makes the game better, then I'm all for it.
Yeah if bungie sees no reason to try and update these places story wise or gameplay wise give me new stuff. Others can complain about the Curse campaign being removed or Warmind with their mediocre destinations, but I’ll just go, “You remember how we felt when those came out, right?” I wish Levi raids could stay but I also never play them so I get it.
The only one i'm sad to see go is mars because I think it looks really cool especially rasputin but the others... and mercury in particular... i'm not gonna miss them
Honestly, destinations have been so neglected that they’re really just pretty set pieces and nothing more. Removing them changes very little about the game. The fact that this is the case is concerning.
It's not because of content, it's due to file size. The locations are some of the largest files in the entire game, so if they want to make space then locations are the first choice
Andrei C cutscenes and language packs take way more space than destinations. It’s more of the programming side for games scale. Easier to manage the game when there isn’t a chance a new mechanic would break something on like mercury or an Io lost sector. The code is probably spaghetti code at this point with all the old content
Andrei C But that ”bugs” talk he mentioned was total bull! :/ Locations are just 3D models! How the HELL there could be bugs on models!? :D Sure! There COULD be bugs on gameplay MECHANICS that happened to happen on those locations, but that is NOT the bug on location itself, its the bug on gameplay mechanics itself.
@@enneff Its more of an on a whim situation. I've been playing since curse of Osiris. I've seen all these places. I'm just going to be sad to see them go.
11:13 I would love to actually hear the inside of why the content removal is occurring. We've been given incredibly vague information, and as I believe Skill Up mentioned in the video covering this news on Laymen Gaming, I've never heard/cannot think of another company needing to do this with their game. Destiny 2's file size is definitely large, but there are several games that are significantly larger. I'd be more satisfied with this direction if I could know more of the specifics behind it.
i just thought of what a blast whisper was for me as a new player. Seeing Io going away is kinda sad ngl; i really hope they keep the mission thing cause it's one of the best pieces of content this game has right now.
But understandable. I mean the amount of content we have on our hands, and most of them irrelevant for players, I get it that they need to sweep the table clean a bit in order to make some space for new stuff.
Sorry for going off topic but what content from the past few seasons have been removed from the game? I took a break and was wondering if I could at least catch up on the story or if it’s completely gone.
@@davidulanovsky8943 pretty sure seasonal stuff is gone and wont come back from the vault. You can get the season pass weapons from the cryptarch and I wouldnt be surprised if seasonal quest exotics just get thrown in the random rotation at some point
To be fair. Unless you still are farming the mods or exotics who plays old raids? Maybe for ok gear rolls but that’s kinda obsolete once transmog comes
The thing is, the planets being removed aren't being used only because Bungie chooses not to use them. They specifically prevent us from being able to rerun campaigns, massively obfuscate their access to New Light players, and then quote a lack of engagement. The exact same applies to raids and not adding raid rotation, which could fix the point YOU make about not running Scourge or Crown. It's the same problem as them designing boss stomps, buffing snipers, and then wondering why sniper usage goes up; they look at numbers but neglect to reflect on themselves and the reasons behind the numbers. It always links back to the choices THEY MADE. And, of course, we're losing 4 planets and the Leviathan to gain... 1 planet and an old area on Earth that will start as a shell and only later be updated "to roughly Destiny 1 Year 1 parity" in S13. They specifically avoid saying that the Cosmodrome will be equal even to Destiny 1's LAUNCH. But hey, we'll get VoG at some point before S17, I guess. As a side note, comparing this to A Realm Reborn is either misguided or willfully disingenuous, for the reasons I mentioned and a list of others.
Of course, instead of making new content Bungie should go back and spruce up all the old planets. I'm sure the destiny community would love to go back to mars and face the revamped Red Legion.
Dude, I've watched you since early D1, thing is I haven't played Destiny 2 since just after Forsaken dropped, watching this is bringing MAJOR nostalgia hits and making me really want to get back into Destiny. I really miss it to be fair, the mention of D1 things returning is enough to give me goosebumps.
This is part of the reason D2 is meh in comparison. Nostalgia is great but it wears off we need NEW locations NEW exotics NEW weapons not old content from D1 brought back if they keep doing that they might as well just shut D2 down and start working on content for D1 again.
Probably won’t, they gave us the boosts to jumpstart your power level and auto complete the story. They will most likely update these to (I’m guessing) 950 power level and will auto complete Shadowkeep and/or forsaken
Cameron Angell And how about all exotic weapons and armors related to legacy season and campaigns!? You can just buy them from Xur and/or Rahool? Fair for players who spend sometimes hours grinding them through quests? :/
Timo T exotics are easy af to get as of now, if they become more rare or unobtainable im chill with it. Theyll acc feel exotic. Hopefully they dont show up in xur/rahools inventory
Could Bungie consider a voting platform each season where we get to decide what comes back from the Destiny Vault in addition to the seasonal offerings and it would be one thing out of a list of options and if X is picked it can’t return for like 5 seasons.
@@necrokittyreal Exactly, that and the Fallen haven't done a damn thing important at all during D2 unless you count Scourge. Or Mithrax in the lore cards.
I stopped playing destiny 2 right around the time when the first expansion dropped. So its been a while. But I might actually go back and play when Vault of Glass is re-released. VoG legit might be one of my favorite video game memories. I was also a warlock so of course I was cheesing Atheon of the platform(good times). However I never did get the Mythoclast. To this day I am still so salty about it. I must of cleared Atheon 20+ times and never had it drop so it would be really fun to run VoG again and try and finally get it. P.S. I did however get the GOAT Fatebringer on my first VoG run so maybe I used all of my VoG luck.

It has been with me in all my life’s highs and lows. Datto I don’t know if you will read this but u have been a major part of my life too and you don’t even know it.
I just want to be able to play D1's campaign. Big fan of the Destiny franchise, but was too young to get D1 and when D2 happened, I was able to get the promo for a free account. Which was a true blessing. This was probably discussed in their meetings but, I think if Bungie really want new people in their game, they need them to get invested to the story once more, and bringing the campaign from D1 to D2, would be the answer!
no because to most of the people with the gaming industry who don't play destiny know that destiny aside from a couple dlc has the absolute worst storytelling in gaming history
If they get rid off Mars, Mercury, Titan, etc I would love to see them come back as new with new content and a better life. Not just as an “expansion place” and nothing else.

To be fair two of them are raid lairs which don't offer any rewards. And they're planning to bring back D1 raids so it's not exactly like trading 5 for 1.
As someone who has never played D1 due to not owning a console, I'm massively excited to finally get to explore the cosmodrome and raid the Vault of Glass, and maybe someday even Kingsfall, explore the Dreadnaught. I get being less than enthused that they're bringing something back without story context, but a lot of us PC players who joined in D2 are real excited to get to play through the old zones and strikes and raids.
Datto come on now. The eramis storyline isn’t just about the house of devils. It’s about the clash of Variks and his house judgement and Mithrax, our alley against the darkness, house light. I might be sounding like a nerd here but if house light prevails we will have a very powerful force that we didn’t have during our first collapse and this is nothing to brush off. Also eramis wielding the darkness is amazing character wise because the fallen race was literally the travelers chosen before humanity. The fallen whole race was rejected by the traveler so eramis accepts the darkness.
the thing about playing new stuff rather then old stuff, yes for some players that have played D2 for a while, all of the raids currently in the game is "old content" for them. but a player that is just starting the game wont be able to play all of this content that is being put into the vault, it would be a big shame if some players didn't get to experience these great and honestly very fun raids like the all of the leviathan raids and Scourge of the Past. with that being said, it would be very cool to see "event" themed raids. like maybe there is an event lasting maybe a month or so, and in that event we get to play one of the vaulted raids from d1 and d2 making it so that even if you weren't here for the raids before they were vaulted, you still can experience the old raids.
You say that like most players do raids when in fact its always been a small margin. Dungeons are the best alternative you dont need a full 6 man group and while they may not be as hard/complex as raids they are enough for the average player.
I will say bringing back old d1 content would be amazing. Like a storyline where the darkness is trying to obtain a hive artifact on the dreadnaught or something along the lines of that just utilizing the potential these destinations had cause I can hardly remember when I’d go to Venus in the last year of d1 other than to do vog or a nightfall
The “leakers” who said every expansion since Taken King that we’ll get a Darkness Subclass are dancing with joy now.

I just realized that Uldren coming back as an ally would make even more sense if its to fight against the Witch Queen
It’s exciting but doesn’t deserve to be the focus of an expansion imo. At least it’s not cabal again though thank fucking god
I just hope we see the veil soon
@@Stonesands Uldren coming in as an ally would be cool. Kinda messed up but interesting for sure.
@@zeeejay It should by all means be the immediate focus... the Fallen are the race most entangled with Earth. They deserve as much of a chance to defend Earth alongside us. The
Eliksni story line is far older than the Hive, and they really need to resolve it because even if Savathun does come and we do defeat her, Xivu Arath still exists... and the last thing we need is to not have allies when the Hive God of War invades in the aftermath of fighting the Darkness and Savathun.
They mentioned the “Why” Eremis has it in for the City and shit. It’s cuz the Traveler fractured the fallen race, it was mentioned in the trailer.
They are literally called the fallen because of that, took me awhile to realise this. Honestly I hope Eremis and her fallen know more about the Traveler than we do, could be very interesting story-wise.
@@janisstrods4404 The lore entry "Baron of Shanks" is a very good read if you're interested in that.
Eliksni: We worship you as God
Traveler: Aight, I'mma head out
Eliksni: REEEE *Explosions*

destiny has been an on and off game, one time its a good game then another time they just add boring stuff to do just to get a high powerlevel
It would be nice if more of the lore was expressed through the actual gameplay and not lore cards.
When I was watching the reveal stream I heard the exo stranger say “the line between light and dark is so very thin” and I immediately thought of uldren and said aloud “do you know which side you’re on?” And then they just threw a curveball and she said “let’s cross it together”
Gotta say, story is the one thing Bungie gets right these days.
There is uldren lore in this seasons armor set for hunters... wonder where that will go as I haven’t read it
I have had three emotional moments about d2: Cayde saying he is “coming home Ace”, seeing the pyramid ship on the moon and the drifter arriving on Europa. And two out of three of those require some knowledge of law, being Cayde’s son and drifters possible connection to europa
If we get to pick between weilding light indefinitely or dark indefinitely... best believe bravo six is going dark
Zachary Barnes ah, a man of culture as well I see
Id go darkness purely because i designed my warlock with a chaos aesthetic since d1. Its the reason why I keep my helmet on in the tower.
I'd probs do it depending on my characters. Like, always imagined my day 1 hunter being more disillusioned with the light then my House of Wolves warlock or TK Titan
If I have to delete my titan for a second warlock, I’d be down
If we had to choose, it will be obvious that 90% of the playerbase would choose the darkness because its new, unless they implement something new to the light aswell (like pure light subclass) to balance our choice.
With all due respect, the dev's did say why erimus, forgot how to spell her name, wants to destroy the city/traveler/guardians. It's because the traveler abandoned her people in the past. At least I'm fairly certain that's the reason
Eramis and yes, you're correct
And I’ve heard it’s been confirmed that her house is called House of Darkness
To be honest I’m actually happy we are finally getting a fleshed out story of fallen and I don’t enjoy fallen at all. Of course they pissed traveled left them for us. This seems like a necessary conclusion to the conflict between guardians and fallen.

All they've given is empty promises and a supper blury GamPlaY trailer.

Variks will likely become a planetary Vendor like Spider, Mithrax will become the Fallen Vanguard rep and playable Fallen since that's been teased since D1 and only further with Mithrax's lore.
Variks house of dusk is definitely an authoritarian monarchy
Eramis house of devils/darkness is definitely a neo conservative revolutionary group
Mythrax house of light is a counter culture revolutionary movement

@@thesteelserpent903 VoG coming back is something in the meantime so that they can keep working on other content, so we don't have to do the same raids. They can't just pump out raids every season. We're getting a new one in fall, VoG will probably be in spring.

I just want to fight actual darkness enemies.

They should have just made D3.
A guy On the internet I dont want to wait 1-2 years for a sequel, that would be bad for the game
@@azuregd3950 just make a new game 4head. If only it was that easy.
They should keep menagerie That game mode is so fun and the loot is great. I'm gonna try to get all the location exclusive gear before it goes away.
So once this new expansion comes. I won’t ever be able to go to Mars or Mercury or ect? Idk if I like that.. but that’s a personal nit pick I suppose
5Star I like that too, so start leveling up the planet and get its armor so you can have it for transmog later
@@5star485 Well that kind of have to. The game file is getting too large and bogged up and makes it hard to update the game.
@@oogabooga5732 @Zoelove I'm pretty sure they said there would be 4 or 6 (can't remember) new strikes coming with the next expansion, with 3 of those I believe being D1 strikes from the Cosmodrome

I find your commentary videos so therapeutic to listen to while I drive. I always listen to them on the way to and from work. Thank you
They said erimis is using the darkness to take revenge on the traveler for forsaking the elksni.
she's using an "ancient darkness power" to be precise
@@saeidnikbakht3886 i actually think that the "ancient darkness power" is the darkness power that we will be turning into our own darkness subclass
4:32 That director looks a whole lot like OG Destiny director. I appreciate.
I thought the same thing. And I think that's exactly what they've going for
Hm. I didn't notice that, but you're right, it does.

@@alsoHexs Oh shit you're right
Crazy I’m getting these videos in my feed now lol. What a ride we have all been on.
Eramis is one of the big players in the Eliksni Civil War
1) Eramis and the Devil Loyalists- Wants revenge on the Traveller for abandoning her people
2) Variks and the House of Judgement- Wants to bring the Eliksni back to their Golden Age, along with all the old ways that came with it
3) Mithrax and the House of Light- Believes that humanity have proven to be better patrons, and believes the Fallen are better siding with them
4) Fikrul and the Scorn- Believes the only way the Eliksni can survive is to evolve into the Scorn.
I agree, destiny is an amazing game and I want to see it continue for a long time.
Yep. Destiny has definitely become a little kids game, for sure.

15:43 I’m glad you’re tempering your excitement for old content. I’d much prefer new stuff.
100% agree. Little skeptical with the d1 content. I want new content.

Lol everyone acts like there arent any ppl who never played d1 and only played d2
Its such a sad thought knowing that destiny is going to end at some point, i mean damn it really put it into context with what datto said about "lightfall". Warmind wasnt a great expansion. All of the weapons are available, confirmed, without EP with random rolls... Mars can go away.

I just want this expansion to make datto and the community happy
Well there goes any chance of me completing my collection badges and titles !
Samr
Depends if they remove triumphs such as the Warmind and curse of Osiris destinations badge, if they remove that then it’ll be so much easier to get
Morgan Ellerington haha they couldn’t do that as anyone who has already done it would be pissed, for example getting specific nightfall drops

8:13 The reason is known datto its erimis or eremis wants revenge on the traveler for leaving the fallen
Eramis lol
Honestly, destinations have been so neglected that they’re really just pretty set pieces and nothing more. Removing them changes very little about the game. The fact that this is the case is concerning.
Yeah, hopefully destinations will bring more in the future.
It's not because of content, it's due to file size. The locations are some of the largest files in the entire game, so if they want to make space then locations are the first choice
@@andreic1769 nobody spends time in patrol AND the file sizes are massive. How often does anybody go to titan?
I started playing Destiny because the locations were so beautiful. I'm bummed to see I won't get to go to some of them.
Why not? You still have time
@@enneff Its more of an on a whim situation. I've been playing since curse of Osiris. I've seen all these places. I'm just going to be sad to see them go.
I like this new Director reminds of d1 hopefully add that y1 music in rotation as well brings back nostalgia
Or because its bullshit and Bungie fanboys will believe what they are told.
@@BenBuckton-te2pm This is outdated info. That was true back in D1. They upgraded the engine when they transitioned into D2.
i just thought of what a blast whisper was for me as a new player.
Seeing Io going away is kinda sad ngl; i really hope they keep the mission thing cause it's one of the best pieces of content this game has right now.
When vog is gonna be in D2 and I can find a fire team in less than an hour to do it
The removal of at least 4 raids is honestly just terrible.
But understandable. I mean the amount of content we have on our hands, and most of them irrelevant for players, I get it that they need to sweep the table clean a bit in order to make some space for new stuff.
But hey we still have all the dungeons and Last Wish, sucks that Scourge is a question mark atm I will admit, I love that strike.
They already said they would change some stuff up before returning them, similar to how all the raids got updates in Age of Triumphs.
Pottering around the Cosmodrome is the only reason I still have D1 installed. So happy to have it back :D
How are people gonna do the main story without io and Titan?
@@hunterwolfe669 they most likely be in Rahool's inventory. They already have the season Exotics there.
Could Bungie consider a voting platform each season where we get to decide what comes back from the Destiny Vault in addition to the seasonal offerings and it would be one thing out of a list of options and if X is picked it can’t return for like 5 seasons.

I stopped playing destiny 2 right around the time when the first expansion dropped. So its been a while. But I might actually go back and play when Vault of Glass is re-released.

Do you think they're gonna bring back these old raids or are they too niche.
To be fair two of them are raid lairs which don't offer any rewards. And they're planning to bring back D1 raids so it's not exactly like trading 5 for 1.
They're taking out other raids to just add more space for the future in general not for one fuckin raid.
3:20 with someone who, for some ungodly reason, has had the same download speed since 2003 this makes me quite happy.

I get being less than enthused that they're bringing something back without story context, but a lot of us PC players who joined in D2 are real excited to get to play through the old zones and strikes and raids.
Quick question if there taking away the leviathan raids what is the point of having Nessus as a destination?
pretty sure nessus is getting smacked with the vault hammer too
Nah it's not, they said Mercury Mars Titan io and the Leviathan, not nessus.
Might use it next season
I mean it is the biggest planet by far
Mr. man 69 io tho
I wonder how Bungie felt or what the discussion was like when discussing removing raids and remembering players whove never played a raid...
THANK YOU, finally someone says it! Felt like I was going crazy since nobody else was talking lore reasons
Always come back to check how Datto's doing. Nice to see Destiny is still alive and kicking
the thing about playing new stuff rather then old stuff, yes for some players that have played D2 for a while, all of the raids currently in the game is "old content" for them. but a player that is just starting the game wont be able to play all of this content that is being put into the vault, it would be a big shame if some players didn't get to experience these great and honestly very fun raids like the all of the leviathan raids and Scourge of the Past. with that being said, it would be very cool to see "event" themed raids. like maybe there is an event lasting maybe a month or so, and in that event we get to play one of the vaulted raids from d1 and d2 making it so that even if you weren't here for the raids before they were vaulted, you still can experience the old raids.
You say that like most players do raids when in fact its always been a small margin. Dungeons are the best alternative you dont need a full 6 man group and while they may not be as hard/complex as raids they are enough for the average player.
Datto: which means, it’s time, for thoughts

I will say bringing back old d1 content would be amazing. Like a storyline where the darkness is trying to obtain a hive artifact on the dreadnaught or something along the lines of that just utilizing the potential these destinations had cause I can hardly remember when I’d go to Venus in the last year of d1 other than to do vog or a nightfall
