Me and the boys are planning our 40th year here or the platinum yucatan princess. And feed back or suggestions on the two? We want to have some night life and planning on a guided fishing trip. Just looking for some advice come February 2025
This place is more of a boutique style all inclusive. You cant expect the same amenities as the big ones like secrets, breathless, RIU etc.

Stayed across the street when the hotel that there was the Royal. We had restaurant privileges at that hotel, it wasnt a Wyndam , but you are right you can not beat the location. I was thinking of staying there, but the beach is a bummer. and no pool bar also a bummer.
Yes the beach was disappointing but the location is great. We still had a good time but if a beach stay is what someone is looking for. This is not the place

Debbie, have you stayed at that resort before? How did you decide that is where you wanted to stay?
First stay at this resort. It has 6 different resorts. I chose the Maya Tropical. I just loved the Colonial vibe.This is one of the four reasonably priced resorts and we have access to all of their facilities. In addition you also have two upscale resorts one being adults only but no access to their facilities. I chose this resort because of the massive beautiful pools with the great pool snack bar overlooking the ocean. The grounds are gorgeous and I liked the lobby bar. Years ago I met some people that had stayed here and recommended it. If you go to TH-cam there are so many videos about this place. You two would love the pool bars. The budget friendly Superior rooms are perfect without loosing an arm and a leg. Lots to do here if your adventurous. Cheers guys!
