The mother was really afraid of the duke(her husband) becouse of their family's power....I think she was it durning her pregnancy... And thought the family is cursed and the baby will be cursed...that's why she wanted her friend (mc) to stay by his side (she is the strongest mage).....and the duke and his brother is on good terms... He let the mother go after a heir was born....he didn’t want a heir at first becouse the family is really kinda like curse.....he knew about the baby being his brother's from the start....and considers it a gift from his brother.... And tell others that his wife and brother are death so that they can live freely
