Hello, I had no idea there was a 'maintenance box'! Gooooood to know :) I anticipate having lots of issues as I do not get to craft as much as my printer and I want to.
Hello. Because you don’t print very often, when you do need to print just print a purge sheet first. This should clear any minor clogs and it’ll let you know you’re good to print before printing your actual image.
how do you know when you maintenance box is full? it always shows gray on mine. I had no problems until I recently added new cartridges. I have 2 of these printers. this particular one is just pigment ink. I'm using re-mfg'd epson cartridges. they show full except for the black. oddly the black is printing just fine.

Thank you so much I just picked up a nice used WF-7720 and did this a couple of times and could not believe how much ink was picked up by the wet towels this make this printer like new
I have a WF 7720 and I thought I followed this to the t. I cleaned it until I didn't see anymore ink come out and left it for the night. I came back and the whole thing was black. I did the print nozzle check and the first page was blank. Second had a little bit of broken magenta. I did a print head cleaning (yes I know the maintenance box but I'm desperate. I need this now) which then gave me a little bit of black on the nozzle check but still doesn't print a test page. At this point, I'm wondering if it straight up broke it when I at least had B&W printing before. I started another round but is there something else I should be doing?
Sorry it took me so long to respond! Try printing purge pages and make sure your ink cartridges didn’t drain completely. If they did, add more ink and try the nozzle check again and purge sheets if necessary.
My Epson Workforce 645 has the error, "Printer Error Turn Power Off And Then On Again" but it doesn't move the print head. Do you know what the defect is?
I just manually took head out and cleaned and did not improve spotty black and other colors except for magenta. tried auto print head cleaning and nozzle check and no improvement. Hi, Thank you so much for this manual cleaning tutorial, and also about the maintenance box! May I check with you about the nozzle check? After using a cleaning kit bought online, I found my nozzle check can finally print the black color, but it still only print one column of black when doing nozzle check print(in the video your printout has two columns of black ink). What is the problem if only one black ink got printed? Thanks!
Hi. I’m not sure about the one column versus 2. Is your printer a 7720? A different model the nozzle check may be different. Do you remember what the nozzle check looked like before?
@@wmroo Did the kit come with enough to do the cleaning again? It sounds like it’s almost there but maybe one nozzle or half of one is still clogged. Try printing and pressing a small image or a purge sheet to see if it effects final product.
@@misskg03 Thks! I think you are right on that, I am using your method of manually cleaning the head now, soaked paper towel with remaining cleaning liquid, and will let the head sit on it overnight.

do you have any idea why I would be getting a dirty spot on my 13x19 prints only? Its always in the same place like a line about an inch from the front of the paper.
What model is your printer? It could be something on my one of your rollers or maybe on the rear paper feed if you’re using that. Are you sure it’s dirt and not ink?
@@misskg03 its a 7710 and it happens both ways if I use the rear feed or the cassette. and yes its ink but it looks like dirt marks. no problems with my 11x17 prints.

I have a feeling that when you get updates, the Epson company sabotages the printer so it fails and you then have yo buy a new one. Some code or algorhythm that causes a malfunction. The model WF 7720 has been discontinued. I mean, really, what do you think?
