    I was really debating which type to buy but now I'm convinced the ballpoint is the way to go. Thank you so much!!

      Hey. What is it that's convincing you to get the ballpoint over the types? My local authorised dealer had a 25% sale on the ballpoint and rollerball today and I opted for the ballpoint based on a whim. I'm not really sure about the pros or cons of either so would appreciate any insight.
      Thanks in advance!

      @@mazrashid6549 I’m 2 years late lol. I have both. Rollerball dries out way more quickly. They’re both amazing though

    These pens hold value. Have a look on ebay and get an idea of what a second-hand one will cost. If you buy a used one in good condition, and look after it, you'll find it will hold its value well and resell it later on for a similar price, or even more depending on the rarity of it. High end ones cost thousands of dollars, such as the Skeletal and ones made with rare rock used in Ramses II types.

    I have a very old M. S. Avatar...looks exactly like this one.. a friend gave it to me when his Mom died. It had a crappy ballpoint, so I put in my favorite Dr grip center of gravity insert. Had to do a simple rig and it works amazing!

    So why are you even watching videos of expensive pens if you're that negative about them. Why is it wasting money: the sales persons have a job, the people who make them have a job, the people who service them have a job, the office personnel have a job.

    I have an original pen Montblanc with a serial number BX1213904. It looks like Classique 164. It also has initials MZ. Maybe do You know, where can I find information about this pen? Year of manufacture, etc.

    Rollerball is superior to ballpoint. I couldn't believe just how easy flowing it is to use. But my MontBlanc collection includes ballpoints, pencils, rollerballs and, of course, fountains which includes a magnificent Vermeil fountain with barley lines. This collection sits alongside a bunch of fabulous Parker 51s - many with double jewels from the first year of 1941 onwards and a couple with solid gold clips and rare colours such as buckskin beige. I love collecting pens like these. Beautiful.

    I'm thinking of getting a Meisterstuck. I found one for $100, like you did. I'm not too familiar with Mont-Blanc pens, on this model, does the cap come off? Also is your's the Le Grand or the Classique?

      +Bluegray38 LOL...I was wondering the same thing before I bought my first Montblanc. If you haven't had a chance to try it yet, it writes like a Cross ballpoint if you ever used one. It's better than a Bic in terms of smoothness and saturation of color (for black ink at least), and the refill lasts forever it seems. If you want a solid refillable ballpoint pen whose proprietary refills write exceptionally well for ballpoints, I'd go with either Parker or Waterman. Waterman, for me, makes better looking pens, but their refills are strictly Waterman refills. Don't get me wrong, I still use my Montblancs, but I find using my Parker or Waterman ballpoints is more enjoyable.

    Has anyone tried the G2 hack with Mont Blanc refills vs the Mont Blanc with G2 refills?

  • @josef959
    @josef959 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't get why this pen is $300. The lacquer and the cap and all that should cost no more than $20 to manufacture and the refill is probably about $2 at most. For a fountain pen, you pay for the craftsmanship of the nib, feed and piston-fill mechanism. which would still cost less than RRP for a Montblanc FP, there's a lot more variety between each FP.

  • @thedavephan
    @thedavephan 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've used one of these pens that my sister bought for me... and I have also used a pilot G2 and inkjoy pens and they all write equally as well to me. Plastic pen with a basic ink refill for 100 bucks. ridiculous

    100 dollars is still too much for a ballpoint pen. Fountain pens are the way to go.

    • @MybeautifulandamazingPrincess
      @MybeautifulandamazingPrincess 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a matter of opinion, some people just prefer the simplicity and practicality of a ballpoint but still want something nice. I have several nice ballpoints from Pelikan, Lamy, Waterman and I enjoy all of them. And most of them I got for under a hundred dollars (vintage pen hunting is a hobby of mine)
      Imo a ballpoint is a very practical pen, while a liquid ink pen (rollerball/f. pen) is more of a hobby or a luruxy. If you don't have a thick higher grade paper the liquid ink and scratchy point if the nib will tear the paper easily

    WTF! Why are you watching this video if you're down on expensive pens. It seems your time would be better spent going to Office Depot and buying a box of Bic pens. But walk or ride your bike to the store so you don't add carbon emissions to the atmosphere.
    Gee, what a bunch of sour grapes.

    This pen was made to get the higher class to spend money on them to think they're better than others, grab a normal pen screw paying 200-500$ for a pen you're going to lose. Or keep getting scammed.

    • @XJarhead360
      @XJarhead360 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Don't be a sourpuss. So what if someone wants to buy this pen. If it doesn't fit your lifestyle or budget then why are you watching this video? Or one about Visconti, Marlen, Montegrappa? People write with whatever they like to use.

  • @chinuind
    @chinuind 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    He says "fountain pens aren't really my thing"...why would you spend $100+ on a ballpoint pen? Ridiculous...unless you just want to be ostentatious.
    I can understand totally buying a $300+ fountain pen...at least you get some unique character with your purchase...you'd have to hold a gun to my head for me to spend more than $5 on a ball point pen...i don't care if it has a montblanc logo on it or not.
