Speaking as a Senior A and E nurse and seeing all the young lads that come through the doors with mental health issues with no role models, you mate, are a true hero! Their will be lots of people that see this video that will run tomorrow, sign up to a gym, think about things slightly differently and that’s more than I can offer them. I can stitch their wounds, I can hold their hand and give them 15 minutes of my unwavering time....I can’t do what you do....hats off mate x
The fact that you even started shows how much you want this. No matter what people say, never give up. just remember you are THE true geordie. never listen to the hate. keep it up and youll see some real progress. Stay safe
I needed to see this i have been to 3 bridge's this year contemplating moving forward. Ive never drank a large amount now i am drinking by the pitchers. I cant stop smoking. My body hurts. Im never not tired. My arms are cold. My legs are weak. Im having to pull over to keep myself from not blacking out atleast 3 times. Im mentally jello. And physically technically able to walk. Barely make it thru work and im 24. I love you man this helped me understand that you have to keep moving. Thank you TruG.
Wow, I’m nearly a year on, taking loads of medication for my mental health, drinking weekends then COVID hit, having my kids home I knew I had to make changes, I couldn’t remain a shell of my self ( this was years ) I had to be present for them. Giving up alcohol was the game changer for me. Taking everyday and getting there. Love and best wishes to you and all your team xxxx
As a boxer myself, the one thing you learn fitness wise is just when you think you can't do it, that's when you're about to do it. Keep going Brian lad! 🥊 🌩 💣
SF_01 Wembley Cup 2018, after a diss Stephen uploaded about the F2, Haks and Jeremy confronted Stephen and were acting like a bunch of pricks until Jesus himself, True Geordie, pulled up and scared of the guy with a Lambo and his best mate
I've been struggling for over a year now and it makes it so hard to get any sort of motivation or even energy for gym/fitness. Watching this has inspired me to get up and push for what I want. I literally paused this video, put on my shoes, and went for a jog & workout in the park. Thank you True Geordie for being an inspiration to me and us all, keep being a Beast!!
You go mate. You got this. Just remember the hard part isn’t the first run but keeping it up through thick and thin. If you can do this (which I have faith you can) then your life will improve in ways you can’t even begin to imagine...
Usually the case in my experience. The lads who could snap you like a twig don't tend to feel the need to prove anything. It's those with 'small man syndrome' you've gotta watch out for.
@@aussiecowboah8825 sure, I mean it's only my experience, but 90% of the people I see out in town trying to start fights are small guys trying to prove their masculinity. Big blokes are usually far more chill, don't start trouble and don't feel a need to show how 'tough' they are. Worked on the doors for a while and this was my experience.
Quality documentary, your a true inspiration, Even thou I finally doing what I wanted in life starting a degree in sports and exercise science to pursue my dream job my mental health still has meant i haven't been happy with myself and have had a real challenging 12 months. But with you talking about your mental health in podcast in the past and promoting awareness for it made me to confidence finally get help and start taking care of myself to help me battle my inner demons. Much love keep up the class content. and this doc has given me even more motivation to keep on improving
I watched this while eating an egg custard, after that I ate another. Then I ate one more and then another. So in a 39.09 I ate 4 egg custards. The moral of this story is egg custards are fucking lovely.
I think a friendly spar with Eddie hall would be an interesting video, especially if the video touches on the mental struggles of the two men... It would be very powerful i think
Love you mate - Also a tip for anyone who has a treadmill - something I learnt from Bert Kreischer. Get up, make tea/coffee, get on the treadmill and just walk, reply to emails, catch up with friends, do some social media, whatever, just walk. Before you even know it, you've walked a few miles, then do some running now you're warmed up.
You don’t have to go on a run when you go on the treadmill first. Just walking quickly on a slight incline will work magic. And then you can take it from there. Huge respect to you Brian! Your doing a lot more than what many people can be arsed to do. So well done! Pat yourself on the back!
its good for burning fat too, walking medium pace for 3 minutes then a min faster at a sharper incline and so on, that worked just as good for me as jogging every other day did
Please, Brian, if it’s possible - do more of this! Not necessarily a 40 minute deep video, but more videos about fitness, boxing and mental health - they’re so inspiring and motivating, I’d love to see others brought in like Ethan or Joe - as a hero to myself and many, many others, these videos are so incredible and profound. Thankyou
This touched my heart, I have been abusing a substance to escape and just started getting back into the gym so you posting this has given me the motivation to go even further now, I dont abuse anymore and want to start boxing too! I know you will make it and do better. Thank you Gordie, really
Same I have bad anxiety and are very socialy awkward which can lead to feeling depressed often how ever I used to escape this by Working out however I turned to drinking and other substances to escape it which has pushed me to a darker place so this comment really helped me n also geordie too but cheers x
@@noteven5124 Good luck Even! You can change your life, you only live once so why not try to live the best we can, doesn't mean you can't have fun but self-control is very important. I'm up at 8am this morning going to the gym for leg day :)
I found this so incredibly inspirational. I've been a fat fuck for years - had a rough motorbike accident back in 2016 and never bounced back from the weight I put on - I decided to do something about it when lockdown hit. I started at 109KG back in April, I'm now down to 88KG as of today with a lot more to go. Often there are days I struggle and think "what's the fucking point". This video reminded me what it's all about and that other people go through similar thing. Stress, anxieties, peer pressure etc. Thank you Brian. Happy to go on this journey with you mate.
Glad to see him doing this, I recently was going through a dark place mentally but I’ve been trying my best to pull myself out of that and working out has really helped. Hope everyone out there takes care of themselves and doesn’t give up!!
Good on you Brian. mental health problems can be incredibly difficult hurdles to cross. You doing this not only helped you but has motivated 1000s more to try.
Actually started crying at the end of this video man, when you feel when you like staying indoors and shutting everyone out and just powering through it can relate, honestly inspiring and if you can do it so can I, keep it up man
Big respect for the honesty about your mental health battle and for trying to improve it man and yourself in general. Honestly refreshing to see from a big youtuber.
I can not overstate how brilliantly you are using your platform to help people, letting people see your vunerable side both mentally and physically. I was someone that as a teenager i was morbidly obese, lazy and had the lowest of self esteem. I then decided to make a change, i chose cycling as my sport, within a year i had lost over 6 stone and now ride 100miles plus for fun. The physical gains are great but the best bit is what it does for your mental health and your self esteem. To anyone reading this only you can make the decision to change yourself for the better, use people like Brian as inspiration, you can do this.
I’ll start with the “I never usually comment on videos” but then I’ll follow with... Brother, I’m on my 5th week attending boxing, Muay Thai and has my first BJJ lesson yesterday. It’s hard but it feels AMAZING to be doing it. Being alone most days isn’t good and me having to go to a class at a gym where it’s me and a group of lads all just trying to better ourselves. I’m rambling now but seriously well done man, you’ve made a decision to improve your life, you’ve made the first step and now you’re sticking with it. I’m not there mentally or physically yet, but I’m closer than I was before starting 5 weeks ago. Honestly couldn’t of dropped this at a better time. We can all get there, stay cool man ✌🏻
This is so true I went to an mma gym for 4 weeks and loved every second of it. That feeling you get thwne the sweat is dripping everywhere and you still going is amazing. Heck it got me in shape fast. Gonna do it again.
For self defence purposes in a general fight you could get into in public say when on a night out, which would you say is most useful, boxing, Muay Thai or bjj?
26:50 love how he goes full Geordie 😁 I'm currently at a similar point. Been starting to work out consistently again two weeks ago after almost two years of crippling depression, unemployment and suicidal thoughts. It's easy to underestimate how being determined regarding a specific area of your life affects other areas. Thank you for your vids, all the best and keep it up 💪
Forms can get better, and appearance will change with time. The point is, you're doing more than the Brian 2 months ago was. You're a new man, my friend - you just gotta refine him 👊💪
For the diet, “healthy” food isn’t the right way to go for most people as it’s pretty strict. The way to be dieting is eating low calorie foods that you enjoy. “Anabolic foods” if you will. You can search up anabolic recipes in TH-cam and you’ll see things like low calorie pizza and pancakes. All it is is substituting high calories ingredients for low calorie ingredients. Eating lots of fiber is very important to fill you up more. Lots of water and diet soda if you want. TH-camrs that have recipes and good information are for example Greg Doucette, Remington James, and Will Tennyson. Hopefully you see this and it helps. Best of luck to you on your journey. Please like this comment so he can see it. Thank you.
That's the point really. You could lose weight with the anabolic foods but the state of your internals might still not be in a good condition. There should be a balancing act of sorts
I'm 21 now and tbf I think I could push 115 maybe 120 but I'm not gonna try because my form isn't perfect. I would encourage everyone to perfect their posture and their technique before they try lifting anything heavy 👌 - I'm a PT 😁👍
I'm struggling a lot right now. I live in Spain and all gyms and boxing clubs are closed. I was 2 years clean, but suffering major depression and when my meds were lowered I started training , but then everything shut down, now I'm back to avoiding people and the world and occasionally using by myself. Thank you for these videos, they are inspiring, I really appreciate it.
Haven’t been back in my MMA gym or doing any type of activity since lockdown began because I didn’t have to see anyone that I cared about looking good for. Gained something like 2 and a half stone now flat 12 stone I used to be nine and a half and very lean. Now is the time to get going again with the training and get this weight off. Thank you true Geordie.
So much love for this guy the honesty, and how he is so human sometimes these you tubers put themselves on a pedestal and this guy just connects with the regular man or woman... much love ❤️
Big love Geordie, an inspiration to me as a young lad trying to build his fitness up and get stronger and faster and so on, an its so inspiring to hear you talk about how hard it is, because then I realise I'm not alone but, its worth every minute
All these comments are so positive, blokes talking about how this vid has inspired them, describing the challenges they've faced & how they've triumphed! 👏🏽💞👍🏽
Hats off to you man. I was going through a weight loss journey pre covid and then I hit a dip of depression during lockdown. I let myself go and and felt sorry for myself. One thing I’ll say is lifes full of ups and down. When life gets you down, its never too late to pick yourself back up again 💪🏻
Mate, I'm so proud of where you have come from watching your rants about fifa and NUFC to where you are now. You should be mighty proud of yourself and you're such an inspirational person. Shearer is our hero, but you're pretty close. Well done Brian.
Been holding off watching this until I fell off the rails mentally. I had felt it coming on for a while but thought i was holding on well over lockdown 1 but as of yesterday i lost it entirely. As im sure it has many others, this video has been a god send and a reminder to get back up dust myself off and make the changes i need to make. Just wanted to say thanks
A big well done Brian! This is actually a big inspiration for me. This year has been the hardest for me mentally and physically. At the height of lockdown I was eating 3 takeaways a week, I put on close to 2 stone. I struggled in work, which effected my performance. My average steps a day were under 200. As you can see from my channel I wanting to do the same thing as this, and watching this has spurred me on to keep going, to do more, to fight off them dark days. Thank you! Smash this!
I was a bit of a bruiser when I was in my late teens, early twenties. I ended up getting stuck in places I didn't want to be in, and shackled by a reputation I didn't want any more. I have a very good childhood friend who, even during my worst, always knew that I was being driven by my poor mental health. I was suicidal for a very long time, until relatively recently, and that friend stuck by me the whole time and helped me through to becoming a much better man, with a much better view of myself and who I am. Long story short, I think he was my Lawrence
After battling with my own anxiety and depression for several years, and last year being diagnosed age 27 with blood cancer (remission 12months now) I’ve been through a lot. During and up to now after my diagnoses I through life away with depression and put on about 4 stone in weight became really unfit and depressed with the events that had happened. After watching this has made me want to take your attitude and “give it a try to change myself” hope you read this geordie, thanks keep it up
True Geordie = perfect commentary and narrator for Lawrence's docs Lawrence = perfect director and storyline for True's narrations Literally the best combo I've known
Brian just finished watching this video and can tell ya you are a warrior you didn't quit when you felt out on your feet and that shows heart. I struggle with weight I lost 9 stone and out out 4 of of it back on and it's not easy but in sure if you keep this up you will smash your goals. I dont do gyms or anything like that which makes the weight loss slow for me and only just moving to Newcastle not knowing people will also stop me from going places. But keep going and you will get there good luck brian
I feel you, brother. I face a battle with my head every day. Seeing you make it is an inspiration though, so thank you for sharing your experiences. There's still a lot of stigma around the subject of male mental health, but you're breaking down those barriers. Good luck and best wishes. Peace. 👍

Big up Brian, takes alot to talk about and show this stuff, you’re headed in the right direction, keep up the good work, you got this!
Don’t give up brotha
U aint alone bro , good Luck with everything
Stay strong lad 💪
You ain't alone man.
God bless take care
Wow, I’m nearly a year on, taking loads of medication for my mental health, drinking weekends then COVID hit, having my kids home I knew I had to make changes, I couldn’t remain a shell of my self ( this was years ) I had to be present for them. Giving up alcohol was the game changer for me. Taking everyday and getting there. Love and best wishes to you and all your team xxxx

He’d win
Love to see him spar Eddie Hall.

He’s about the size of geordies ankle
Why is everyone talking about that is there a video on it?
SF_01 Wembley Cup 2018, after a diss Stephen uploaded about the F2, Haks and Jeremy confronted Stephen and were acting like a bunch of pricks until Jesus himself, True Geordie, pulled up and scared of the guy with a Lambo and his best mate
Please i hate that guy he thinks hes famous and funny all what he does is put an accent on and act like an idiot
W2s ? I like him even though he never uploads
Big respect to Brian he faced a lot of challenges and mentally overcome them put his “masculinity” aside and faced it
I've been struggling for over a year now and it makes it so hard to get any sort of motivation or even energy for gym/fitness.
Watching this has inspired me to get up and push for what I want. I literally paused this video, put on my shoes, and went for a jog & workout in the park. Thank you True Geordie for being an inspiration to me and us all, keep being a Beast!!
Well done, you're on the right track 👍
You go mate. You got this. Just remember the hard part isn’t the first run but keeping it up through thick and thin. If you can do this (which I have faith you can) then your life will improve in ways you can’t even begin to imagine...
@@tomogian Thank you so much!
For such a huge intimidating bloke he’s such a sweet guy deep down
Usually the case in my experience. The lads who could snap you like a twig don't tend to feel the need to prove anything. It's those with 'small man syndrome' you've gotta watch out for.
Spot on mate
@@antonyevans9772 really really late but, could you possibly elaborate?
Props to you mate cause it isn’t easy 🙏🙏

I laughed at this but i have to say egg custards are fucking grim

This comment just made me laugh so loud 😂
This is so underrated fucking class comment mate 😂
I think a friendly spar with Eddie hall would be an interesting video, especially if the video touches on the mental struggles of the two men... It would be very powerful i think
Love you mate - Also a tip for anyone who has a treadmill - something I learnt from Bert Kreischer. Get up, make tea/coffee, get on the treadmill and just walk, reply to emails, catch up with friends, do some social media, whatever, just walk. Before you even know it, you've walked a few miles, then do some running now you're warmed up.
This. Like this.
Nice
Good luck, buddy!
Same I have bad anxiety and are very socialy awkward which can lead to feeling depressed often how ever I used to escape this by Working out however I turned to drinking and other substances to escape it which has pushed me to a darker place so this comment really helped me n also geordie too but cheers x

Much love Brian you’re a great guy and I love seeing your transformation! I hope the best come to you, a true Geordie and a true legend.
Good on you Brian.
mental health problems can be incredibly difficult hurdles to cross. You doing this not only helped you but has motivated 1000s more to try.
Actually started crying at the end of this video man, when you feel when you like staying indoors and shutting everyone out and just powering through it can relate, honestly inspiring and if you can do it so can I, keep it up man
Nothing has inspired me more to pick my arse up and get a grip than this. Thank you Bryan , thank you
Big respect for the honesty about your mental health battle and for trying to improve it man and yourself in general. Honestly refreshing to see from a big youtuber.
If only those pads were Man like Haks face....
Im so excited for this doc, so excited for your journey! can't wait to see your progression! love you & your crew (loz, kickoff, pod!!)
I wasn't expecting to see a Believing Bruce out in the wild. What a guy
We can all get there, stay cool man ✌🏻
Wobi Tide nice
What bjj gym is open now in covid?
Push yourself to the limit bro💙
It will all be great in the end G🙏🏻👍🏽💪🏽
This is so true I went to an mma gym for 4 weeks and loved every second of it. That feeling you get thwne the sweat is dripping everywhere and you still going is amazing. Heck it got me in shape fast. Gonna do it again.
For self defence purposes in a general fight you could get into in public say when on a night out, which would you say is most useful, boxing, Muay Thai or bjj?
26:50 love how he goes full Geordie 😁
I'm currently at a similar point.

Thank you.
Fabian Dapena that doesnt make you healthy it makes you lose weight
That's the point really. You could lose weight with the anabolic foods but the state of your internals might still not be in a good condition. There should be a balancing act of sorts
SFAAPK7 yeah!
SFAAPK7 I agree, his internal state might stay the same, but I am only talking about the best way to lose weight, not his mental state

Peace. 👍
