Epic & DANGEROUS hike - Half Dome Yosemite

In this video, I attempt to brew a Chemex pour over of coffee on top of Half Dome in Yosemite Park, one of America's most beautiful and dangerous hiking trails.

What to expect on the hike? The hike took nearly 14 hours, but it was SO worth it. We saw so many waterfalls: Bridalveil Fall, Nevada Fall, Vernal Falls . We also saw a bobcat!
Half Dome is located in Yosemite in the same National park where Alex Honnald climbed El Capitan in the documentary Free Solo. We stayed at the Evergreen Lodge. A bit pricey, but very secure and comfortable, although tent camping is available in the valley.
To brew my coffee, I used a Jet Boil (highly recommend for outdoor coffee brewing), an Acaia Scale, a Chemex, and coffee from my company, Blue Sail Coffee. Keep in mind this gear does add weight to your bag!
What you should know about hiking Half Dome? Please be aware that the final ascent is very dangerous. The final 440ft ascent is a STEEP climb. Your hand grip needs to be strong so that you can hold most of your weight on the cables for at least 20 minutes. Wear the proper shoes and gloves. Bring 3-4L of water recommended.
You do not want to be on top of the mountain during a storm, because you will make yourself vulnerable to lightening strike. And descending during wet condition would nearly be impossible without the properly gear.
