Hey what would you say makes a good bass section leader?
Great situational awareness, knowing how to set the pace of a rehearsal, on point with logistics, great communicator, humble... things along that line. Obviously you'd want a good player as well but I think the best leaders are just good humans in general. 👍
Quick question, and anyone can answer. How hard do you think it is to march and play bass drum at the same time? I’m going into my first year in marching band and I was looking for some tips to help me when marching and playing.
Paige C It can be pretty taxing on the back muscles, especially for new marchers who aren’t used to it; I’d say one of the best things you can do is talk to some of your high school drumline members and get their thoughts and advice

Mr. Fatman they didn’t want the bass two part to be open in case Matt couldn’t come back. So they switched Aaron to bass 2

Mr Pie I dont know who you think you are but I marched Vanguard back in 98’. I would have to come back and pray that my buddies brought back music from there corp. now everything is online and absolutely ruins the excitement of seeing them live. It’s chumps like these that ruin the community by “transcribing” music that ruins the hard work of mike Jackson and roger carter.

Back when I marched it was nothing but real blood,sweat, and tears. Now all the corps spoon feed the members and hold their hand from beginning to end. None of you would have lasted back in my days of marching.

This was at preview show, after they do their production for the year, they invite everyone down to the floor to do just a few exercises and a lot drill rep of the show. They did the other exercises before performing the show. 👍
