I love both shows. I would imagine that when you're creating a horror series, you're probably going to take some inspiration from previously successful horror series. I love that the two shows have a similar feel.
While watching From, I turned to my mom and said Boyd reminded me of Rick Grimes! They’re both shows about survival and humanity and I think that means they will overlap themes and traits. Also I really love the Jade/Tabitha and Richonne parallels.
I think the part where Boyd gets mad at the Towns just because they think the Trees with get them home, it's like the same thing when Rick tries to convince the group to go out in the woods to make themselves shelter against the walkers. I can see the similarities.
The show really reminds me of LOST. They are people stuck in a place and can't leave (Like the Island) then you have little things like how Ethan is the Walt of FROM, or when The house collapsed it was just like the hatch when it imploded. Just watching it there are constantly things that remind me of LOST

Disgruntled Lost fan here. Had I realized the two shows were from the same writers, I wouldn't have fallen head first into From....BUT here I am, just as obsessed with From as I was with Lost.
Lost and walking dead is on my top 10 tv shows of all time but I love watching tv shows when its finished this past few years I have seen the trailer of this show a few years ago it looks like a good show but seeing the similarities to walking dead from this video makes me wonder if Im going to love this show considering I already seen the show but hopefully this show will last long because it looks like a good show
If you all love lost. There's a book on kindle called the town the world forgot. Very similar in idea but it's crazy with the plot and how theres communities hidden and people born within the town. No one can leave and there's entities that control. There's a cult that believe they belong etc. Its so good. The town the world forgot.
Oh it is very entertaining and will take hold of you from the very 1st episode only thing sucks though I will warn you is that it doesn't run as long as TWD as in episodes but it does make damn good for getting the story across in the amount of episodes it has.
Very good show. And you have a couple of seasons to watch before the next season comes out. Once you start, you won't want to stop and there's plenty of videos and breakdowns on TH-cam. Has to be one of the most underrated shows on t v right now
I did get walking dead vibes watching it. it mostly feels like season 2 season 3 of twd. but it is very different tho. i think the writers took bits and pieces of twd and implemented it into From because it works so good.
Always TWD first but I am loving From- interesting characters and story- finally giving us at least some answers! 😂 I noticed a lot of the Easter eggs you mentioned. I also watch Silo and noticed that both Silo and From have 'little boy' lost older male characters, who are a bit eccentric because of long isolation - brilliant acting by both of their actors - Coincidence that this type of character appears in two different shows? Another point, the reason I say this is well although the bus is similar to the bus of people entering the Cursed Town and in TWD, some people leave the bus to survive, but some died on that bus. This could be a little theory.
I absolutely LOVE From, I love it more then I ever did TWD, and I like their " sheriff " better, then TWD. I was never a fan of Rick myself, I frankly thought at least by the 3 season Daryl would make a better leader for the group then Rick. I bet for one he wouldn't have lost Sophia, like Rick did, him leaving that scared 11yr old girl like he did, because supposedly he couldn't carry her and get away, I mean all he had to do is circle around and head back to the road, when they found that ditch. He had time before the walkers that were following them could see them, so he could have headed back in a direction parallel to the road, but away from the walkers, and then head back to the road, and Sophia would have at least survived that. AND yes I know he acted like it was hard on him carrying her, because of him being shot, BUT, when his son was shot, he carried him several yards from where it happened to the farm, to Hershel, no problem really. And he would have weighed at least as much as Sophia, since they were the same size. In fact it's possible he weighed more then her. So it's like because he was his son, he could bring himself to carry him, but not Sophia, she didn't mean as much to him, so instead he left her alone. Daryl if real, wouldn't have left her, he would have carried her even if he was freshly shot, before he would have left her alone, I'm sure of it. Anyway, back to From, I do love the show, and though you could think they're similar, I really don't see most of what was said in this video. I mean the crows? Nothing that big was ever made over crows in TWD, and Jim wasn't actually imagining the phone was ringing, it rung even when his kids were there, and it was caused by whatever is happening in the town, not because he was going crazy like Rick did. And he wasn't hearing his wife, he was hearing his dead son talking to him on the phone, and though it wasn't his real dead son, there was someone or something, talking to him, or maybe it was his son, in this show, who knows, lol! It really is like comparing apples and oranges, like they're both a horror show, but that's all they really have in common. Sure I do find Jim at times just as annoying as Rick sometimes, so they are similar in that matter. So if Jim is dead, I won't be missing him, though I will feel sorry for his family losing him, especially with the daughter being there when it happened and seeing what they did to him. But Jim did do a better job trying to take care of his kids and his wife, then Rick ever did. Since Rick always had someone else watching over his kids, like Carl and Judith, he had Michonne babysit them while he was off doing stuff and thangs, lol! I will say this, I am thankful to this video, since I now know my favorite show is coming back for a 4th season. I do hope they get to finish the story, for however long it takes, btu I don't want them to stretch it out to the point where it doesn't make even a little bit of sense, like Lost did.

I read that this is their Lost 2.0… they are correcting all the mistakes they made with Lost. Nothing too crazy. No dead end mysteries that are forgotten with no answers. Nothing drawn out, played out. Hitting the Lost sweet spot. Lol

You're reaching massively, like come on. Both shows had trees and crows and sheriffs! Realistically this show could be connected to True Detective Season 1 or just following the same mythology. Both shows have the themes of time looping infinitely, strange visions, occultism, children sacrifices (in caves), "The Man in Yellow/Yellow King". Who knows, maybe they're in Carcosa?

I first saw Harold Perrineau(Boyd) in lost the soa and oz he was a side character and was not really in the show that much I’m not saying he wasn’t a good actor just saying I didn’t know if he could lead a show but after 3 seasons my god he kills it in every scene 🎬

Boyd also isnt a sherrif. He had miltary experence and so he took on the sheriff bagdge that was there because people picked him as leader after he found the talismans. These shows are nothing alike and this video is garbage. They've literaly announced its going to end at season 5.

I wonder if season 4 of FROM will have a main villain instead of the night monsters. Like how the Governor was the villain in season 3 and 4 of TWD.
Another point, the reason I say this is well although the bus is similar to the bus of people entering the Cursed Town and in TWD, some people leave the bus to survive, but some died on that bus. This could be a little theory.

I absolutely LOVE From, I love it more then I ever did TWD, and I like their " sheriff " better, then TWD. I was never a fan of Rick myself, I frankly thought at least by the 3 season Daryl would make a better leader for the group then Rick. I bet for one he wouldn't have lost Sophia, like Rick did, him leaving that scared 11yr old girl like he did, because supposedly he couldn't carry her and get away, I mean all he had to do is circle around and head back to the road, when they found that ditch. He had time before the walkers that were following them could see them, so he could have headed back in a direction parallel to the road, but away from the walkers, and then head back to the road, and Sophia would have at least survived that. AND yes I know he acted like it was hard on him carrying her, because of him being shot, BUT, when his son was shot, he carried him several yards from where it happened to the farm, to Hershel, no problem really. And he would have weighed at least as much as Sophia, since they were the same size. In fact it's possible he weighed more then her. So it's like because he was his son, he could bring himself to carry him, but not Sophia, she didn't mean as much to him, so instead he left her alone.
Daryl if real, wouldn't have left her, he would have carried her even if he was freshly shot, before he would have left her alone, I'm sure of it.
Anyway, back to From, I do love the show, and though you could think they're similar, I really don't see most of what was said in this video. I mean the crows? Nothing that big was ever made over crows in TWD, and Jim wasn't actually imagining the phone was ringing, it rung even when his kids were there, and it was caused by whatever is happening in the town, not because he was going crazy like Rick did. And he wasn't hearing his wife, he was hearing his dead son talking to him on the phone, and though it wasn't his real dead son, there was someone or something, talking to him, or maybe it was his son, in this show, who knows, lol!
It really is like comparing apples and oranges, like they're both a horror show, but that's all they really have in common. Sure I do find Jim at times just as annoying as Rick sometimes, so they are similar in that matter. So if Jim is dead, I won't be missing him, though I will feel sorry for his family losing him, especially with the daughter being there when it happened and seeing what they did to him. But Jim did do a better job trying to take care of his kids and his wife, then Rick ever did. Since Rick always had someone else watching over his kids, like Carl and Judith, he had Michonne babysit them while he was off doing stuff and thangs, lol!
I will say this, I am thankful to this video, since I now know my favorite show is coming back for a 4th season. I do hope they get to finish the story, for however long it takes, btu I don't want them to stretch it out to the point where it doesn't make even a little bit of sense, like Lost did.

I read that this is their Lost 2.0… they are correcting all the mistakes they made with Lost. Nothing too crazy. No dead end mysteries that are forgotten with no answers. Nothing drawn out, played out. Hitting the Lost sweet spot. Lol

Realistically this show could be connected to True Detective Season 1 or just following the same mythology.
Both shows have the themes of time looping infinitely, strange visions, occultism, children sacrifices (in caves), "The Man in Yellow/Yellow King".

Boyd also isnt a sherrif. He had miltary experence and so he took on the sheriff bagdge that was there because people picked him as leader after he found the talismans.
