I hope they restore many of the Old World buildings to preserve the history.

If St Louis doesn't Crack down on crime this development will become a ghost town like most of downtown is . Coddling the criminals has not worked regardless of what people want to believe . Upgrade your jails , bring in more police , and put the criminals away . I may sound hartless but I will not do anything downtown when my family is at real risk . I only do St Louis when I'm with a large group and that is not easy to do . Improve and renovate downtown , improve the publics safety and people will return and enjoy the amazing history of this wonderful city .

That will be nice. Hopefully many of the East St. Louis families and people will move over after the flooding from the rains. I think Governor Pritzker has been slow on providing help and this would be a nice area for these neighbors to relocate to and St. Louis will happily welcome them.

If Lecledes landing is dead, if downtown is dead (except during a game), how will this be any different?

Laclede was killed by the casino. Since Koschiosko is next to Soulard, which isn’t dead, this may have some life

@@xftbllplyr2091 Laclede was killed by a certain demographic. That forced people that didn't want to be around thug culture to Washingon Ave. Then the thugs moved to Washington Ave. and people have fled there.

Until the city cleans up crime, this is a joke. No one wants to go down there and get robbed or their car stolen.

Crime happens everywhere no matter what city you are in. Places like Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Houston, and even Austin are experiencing rise in crime. These cities are not reporting the real crime statistics because they don’t won’t to hurt the local economy in these cities.

    • @MrTLinSTL

@@eugenetown16 And what do those cities have in common? They've all adopted radically progressive policies that have tied the hands of the police and made it their goal to keep the criminals out of jail. You could go on with New York, LA, just about every democrat strong city has done the same and it's why people are fleeing.

Ironic how they’re rebuilding on the same land that was once a prosperous black neighborhood, but was DESTROYED in order to build the arch. But congratulations saint louis. 😂

Riverfront? What about these dangerous bridges that rock and sway (OVER LARGE BODIES OF WATER)? What about the sewers that overflow after only 2hrs. of rain? The blight, trash, and the overgrown grass/weeds on ugly looking St. Louis highways in North St. Louis? This is a nice “idea” for the Riverfront, but MUCH MORE pressing issues are needed immediately! I won’t be patronizing any of this. St. Louis County executives won’t get my support either if they don’t get their act together as well for North St. Louis, and get viable development and infrastructure in that area as well.
