I ran these on 50 watts rms from a kenwood amp and sounded great. Then I switched to 125watts rms on a kenwood amp and used the smd dd1 to gain match. Now they sing amazingly. Definitely give these rated or slightly overdrive them for the best sound. If you're running without an external smp then use the cheaper E series instead to get the best sound with low power.
I just swapped out the previous speakers, Rockford Fosgate Prime R1675-S components, in my Camaro for these and I'm much happier. The RF had very bright/tinny sounding tweeters and virtually no mid bass no matter how much I played with the EQ. These have just enough bass to compliment my RF P-300-8P power subwoofer, while the speakers are still running off a RF amp and Pioneer head unit.
@@dhanssolo if you do it right. Get the right hardness from Enfig and run the power cables from the battery all the way back to the trunk and wired the speakers directly to the amp. They sound amazing!

I watched the earlier video where you installed the S-S69C sets in the front door and dash. What would you put in the rear doors to complement the front speakers? A set of coaxials? or another set of components?
Do the passive cross-overs that attach to the tweeters attach to the woofer or the tweeter speaker harness? [input connector for stock tweeter] -> [red wolf harness] -> [passive cross-over] -> [tweeter speaker]?
It depends. If your car have a premium sound with subwoofer. Your car mostly like have a built in active crossover. You can use use the OEM tweeter wire plug and play. If your car don’t have an active crossover, you need to use the inline crossover to connect the tweeters or else you get distortion. For example, 10th gen civic with subwoofer don’t need crossover. The other model like EX need crossover
Hey Chris, do you think those tweeters could be flush mounted into the door panel of a 2004 Celica? There are stock tweeters already, but I'd love to swap out all front speakers and add a sub with a 5 channel amp and a new head unit. I don't need anything "wow," as this is a fun project car, but I'd like a bit more than what the stock radio has to offer. Cheers from across the lake over in Eagle Mtn.
Hi , quick question In my car i have wires going to both doors for subwoofers and wires going into the corner of the dash for tweeters. The crossover that comes with these speakers, can it just go tweeters to crossover to head unit? Or does it have to go tweeters > crossover > subwoofer > headunit. If i can just skip going through the subwoofer that would save me so much time
The mid-bass driver that goes in the door already has it's own crossover, and doesn't need any additional crossover. The external crossover included with the speakers is only for the tweeters which will be connected between the wiring in the dash and the new tweeter.
What volume (as in litreage) are your test boxes made to? I've got my s65cs in some rough kick pods in my bmw and I don't think I'm giving them enough airspace..
So my deck is a Dsx sony 400 watt built in amp 100x4 rms will my only board amp power these 2 speakers? Is it 80 watts rms per speaker? O or together 80 watts rms
What would you suggest in this alpine s65 vs steg leo vs jl c1-650? I prefer more bass. And would your preferred speaker work with stock head unit or will Need an amp ?!
the microphone of the video camera is not used to give even an idea of how they sound, you could increase the level of your videos using a professional audio recoder, such as an h4 zoom by putting it a meter away from the speakers, and perhaps with a minimum of soundproofing of the room, you will see you can be a point of reference for the comparison of the speakers.....per finire....fai dei bei contenuti ..............I know my English sucks

These are excellent speakers, work great of an aftermarket head unit and even better with an amp.

These speakers are the best. I have 2 sets in my Audi B5 and 2 sets in Audi C5 Allroad powered by a Alpine PDX 4.100 each.
about to put these in my b5 as well! have the factory bose system and its about had it lol.

Alpine components vs jbl components which one would you recommend for low and mid range bass
I want to
Make a box for use at home should I make a sealed or ported and how many litres should be box
I wonder why the Crutchfield app says these won't fit in my 2007 Miata GT?
they say the same for my 2011 vw jetta se
thx for demo
The tweeters included are the sps-110tw?

Which Alpine Components and Coaxs would you recommend for 25W RMS, they will be running off the PWD-X5
If you are only running 25 watts, then I'd just suggest the Type E line (entry level).

Is the Alpine MRV F300 a suitable amp for these speakers?
Yep, should be just fine. That alpine can put out 50w RMS @ 4 ohms, and these speakers can handle about 80w RMS.

This or the JBL gto 609c
Can I use 12 gauge speaker wire with it?
It’s overkill, 18 gauge OFC or 16 gauge is just fine.
There are some wires hearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
