Thanks for posting this, Adam auditioned for home make over and they told him that they had a guy who was a 'Master Carpenter' good looking and funny. That's why he's ripping on Ty. On the morning radio show he'd go off on Ty once a month.
"if i'm...uhh.... drilling through some metaaaallllllll.... uhh.... is there something.... i should... put on the metal....." "How many days did it take you build the Golden Gate Bridge?...... I don't know I thought you'd know, thats why I asked you."
@HeroicPunk Sweet, thanks man. You don't have to go through all that trouble , just looked it up and am downloading it now, appreciate the offer though.
if you have a show on tv as a carpenter--NOT as a designer--then you damn well better know your shit. Nobody gives a shit what he got his degree in, they care if he's competent at what people say he does. and clearly he just got ruled.
lol, the matter at hand is Adam schooled Ty early because Ty failed to answer simple nomenclature that is part of every day construction. Ty isn't just some guy doing carpentry work, he is a douche-bag tool that knows just enough to have a simple conversation about building houses, maybe he was part of a team building a house, but he definitely isn't by any means a foreman, he's a reality show tool, end of the conversation. Let's stop defending reality TV personalities when they're criticized.
well to me Ty exposed himself more than anything and Adam was really soft on him and didn't choose to quiz him or ever directly ask him how many years he had, but when the best he had was what is the difference between a header and a joist I mean that really shows hes probobly got less than 3 months experience in his lifetime on a real jobsite. Not knowing the difference between OSB and regular plywood to me isint that major but god just look at his toolbag and hammer alone. he got that from his mom's garage its probobly 14 ounces and what the fuck is that claw.
@darkhawk07 the Ty Pennington episode of Loveline originally aired on March 9th, 2004. I could even send you the episode if you'd like. Leave me a message if you're interested.
yes, very elementary carpentry questions. He can teach Carpentry 101, oh wait, he can't properly name Oriented Strand Board or Medium Density Fiber board, nevermind, he can't even teach high school woodshop. I've never worked on one day on a job site, but from taking one year of woodshop in high school over 10 years ago, I know those answers.
exactly!! I work an office job, but I do most of my own home repairs. So I would consider myself on the low end of the totem pole regarding carpentry, yet even I knew most of the questions.
What you guys don't know is that Ty is totally playing with the guy. I work with the guy occasionally. Ty is more of a designer and then a carpenter. He has a degree in design...
I think it is cool that Adam Corolla has real skills and knowledge outside of TV work
It's nice when a TV host actually fucking knows what he's talking about instead of getting the job just because they look good
He’s an actual carpenter by trade!

"He's got Lacquer Brain" lol
"ask me a blade question" lmao ... that's an old slang term for gay hahaha adam is a genius for slipping that in there unbeknownst to everybody
Jesus Christ, I knew the answers to all these questions just from occasionally watching This Old House.
"ummm, obvisiously saturated board..." Lmao
I love adam. He rips that d bag up
this is so ruthless "stump me with a TOOL"
"if i'm...uhh.... drilling through some metaaaallllllll.... uhh.... is there something.... i should... put on the metal....."

Lol it sounds like even Dr. Drew was chiming in with some knowledge.

Ty Pennington doesn't know anything about being a carpenter ?! He was just some tv personality?! No wonder he didn't last. 🤯
Himbo privilege is a real thing.
Hello reddit
He didn’t even get OSB...
