I started going to Denton in 1974 I was 11 years old, it was the Wheat Trashing and International Fly In. They had a little air strip there then .There three steam traction engines there one was may grandaddy took him to see it again he owned it through the 30s and 40 thrashed wheat for neighbors. There was a also a vertical boilers Westinghouse engine that was sold all around NC for years ending up at Ken edders place. The other tractor were farmers from around the area brought thier tractors. The were no buildings back then ,No shade just a open field of winter wheat a airstrip.Last time I went was 5 years ago. Thanks for posting this video brings many memories of my granddad and his Massey Harris tractors

Jonathan, that was a fun day👍. Seeing all those steam engines, amazingly quiet. Then the tractor 🚜 parade, wow, never seen so many in one place. A really great video, thanks for bringing it to us👍🇺🇸

Thanks for the video. I enjoyed all the engines and the tractor parade. I found it nice that they have kids, women driving them and the sheer variety of tractors was amazing. A lot of credit to all those people for the effort to keep them running. The best part was that all you saw was people having a good time with no fuss or muss. A real family affair. Thanks again and you have yourself a great week.

Thanks for filming the tractor show! I saw 3 examples of old Farmall's and a John Deere my grandfather used to own. I used to have a 1940 Farmall Model A Cultivator. She was rough but still pretty to me! I sold it to someone with time and parts to fix it up, neither of which I had then.

When refinishing the "D" valves on our locomotives we polish the valve itself with 1,000 grit paper on a surface plate (thick glass will do). We then lap it to the steam chest using various Clover lapping compounds. The parts must be very clean and rust free before starting the process. You might want to have a snack to get you through the job. Good luck as yours look a bit rough.

There are pictures of several steam engines and a boiler . It was under steam 2-3 months ago. It is located in north eastern Pa. I heard that the owner tried to donate them several times ,but was turned down.

He has ,I believe 3 Stanley steamers, One he built from scratch he has a couple steam launches And he has built a walking beam steam engine. He's a very interesting guy. Yes, it is a High Point engine built in High Point North Carolina. It is the only one I have seen before. The wood is used as an insulator to hold heat in the cylinder. I plan to do some research on the company soon.
