    Finally a fresh take on a concerto played too often the same boring, old way. Love period music.

      +Dan boring?

      @neesasuncheuri 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I think Dan is just saying that the interpretation is fresh. Not that the music itself is boring, but that it is always played in the same way.

      Old way is a strange criticism.. the point of period instruments is playing it in the original, very oldest way!

      @@ZJStrudwick The added Harpsichord part sounds great but where can I find that part in sheet music?

    this is how this concerto would sound like in Mozart's time.

    brilliant recording

    The "Col legno" passage in the third movement almost really sound like being performed on "Turkish style" bass-drums! This the reason why historically informed performances are needed: to help restoring the original "colours" of the Scores. Every comments about their uselessness is shut by performances like this one.

    De los conciertos para violín de Mozart...es mi favorito.- Una pregunta: ¿alguien puede decirme quién es el retratado en la portada? ¿es quizá uno de los hijos de Mozart?...El propio Mozart en su adolescencia..me resulta raro...Yo veo rasgos coincidentes con Constanza... (en ese caso, su madre).- Gracias.

    Finally. Someone is playing this concerto in a right way! Have been sick and tired of all those "great" (and very WRONG) recordings done by Mutter, Oistrakh, Menuhin bla bla... they might be great technicians but their Mozart is a disgrace to human history.

      well.. it's their interpretation... im not sure if the best way to say it is they're very wrong, although I do agree sometimes they are less livelier.

    In Mozart's time, the harpsichord was used as a "continuo" instrument, and was played by the leader to help the orchestra keep time. However, when a concerto was played, it was usual for the soloist to lead - which means that a violin concerto would be led from the violin, not the keyboard. So it doesn't make sense to have a harpsichord play in a violin concerto!

      Is there any proof of this? Interested to learn more. Gould once argued the reason the piano concertos are so devoid of left hand is because Mozart expected continuo support.
