LOVELY stuff Martin. Looking forward to more content on this, and like others have said would be keen to see a quick whistle-stop "how I painted these" as those Romans look great. The reds in particular on the shields. Nice one mate!
Thanks for the dive into these. The sculpting & casting does look better than some other epics, and yours look great painted up. As much as I love the character of 28mm figures this is a better scale for the big armies of this period. I’ve been collecting them in 15mm so I’ll be hoping to get a sprue bundled with a WI issue to compare scales.
Thanks buddy, I can't comment too much on the comparison with the other Epic lines as I didn't jump on those but the sculpts here are detailed and crisp for the scale 👍
Ah, this looks like a lot of fun. There is something to be said for the scale, gives an army a sense of mass. I appreciated your old Ancients October series; your old 28mm Victrix Carthaginian army looked great, and the snow was ambitious.
I think that the key, the impression that it's a massive of men. Thanks for the kind words on the old project, it was a toss up here if I was going to do the same 😁
Thanks very much 👍 it's a format I like to do, it sometimes means that the videos aren't as quick as they could be but I think it helps with the overview 😁

Hi Martin. Looking forward to viewing battle report. Whilst the emphasis is obviously on the ‘epic’ nature of battles to be had, it would be great to know just how few sprues could be painted up to have a meaningful game. Is it possible to have a skirmish type game with just one or two sprues per side and then add to this for larger conflicts as time goes on? What makes a sensible minimal force? Regards,
Hi there, thanks for taking the time to comment. This is certainly something I can make a comment on. I have had some great games with only 1 division at 28mm but I'll have a look at the sprues and work it out for a future video. If you break it down it may be that the division boxes can be broken down to make small battle forces 👍 I'll have a look and report back 😁
Looking great. I like you used different shield colours to make the different infantry types stand out. Be great to see them expand the epic ancient range, epic scale chariots, Celts, Greeks etc, we'll see.
Thanks very much 👍 that big set is good value, it's not really a starter, more of a massive battle set, I can't really seeing you needing anything else after you get that l, which is great, with the possible exception of some of the add ones way down the line 👍
@@7thson726 Hi there, it’s going to be the Carthaginian army marching over the alps onto the battlefield including a Roman marching camp and a Gallic village. Nice looking units. Can’t wait to see the Carthaginians. I hope you are still going to continue the 28mm Caesarians. I was really enjoying that project. Thanks for doing these videos.
With this scale I found an interesting paint set, the brushes were designed for nail art to paint fine patterns on finger nails. I was wondering if you have ever used such brushes. the brushes seem to be designed for very fine detail. Love the video, I have been working on the Epic Napoleonic.
So, for the Hastarti the shields Are Blood Angels red with a wash of AP strong tone the stippled Scarlett. All the bodies were done with Dreadful Visage first then I picked out different ones with various reds and sepias. The Principes and the Triariai were a lot easier as it was chainmail so that's just any silver with AP strong tone. The shields were yellow contrast with the dirty red wash from AK. Hope that helps
Very cool! I was wondering if you would be covering this set. I'd love to see some historical battles, which I assume will be included in the rules. I really hope this setting does well and Warlord expands it.
Absolutely, I think I would build up to one of the bigger battles, maybe a couple of smaller ones to set the scene then go for the large grand spectacle 😁
Great to see your covering this, so questions, questions - Are you going to look at running a campaign of any sort, and could the range be used for the first punic or third punic war as well?
Great presentation. Love the paintjobs. The cavalry looks indeed much improved compared to earlier epic releases. You are not helping me with my initial decision to sit this out 😂
Mega dittos to all the positive comments about the great painting. These figures look quite useful. What size/scale are they. What is the width of the ''oreo." These might well serve for DBA based on 60mm frontage for giant games. By the way, from your prior research do you think that Carthage elephants were like Indian ones with the big houdah. I have seen these as now extinct forest elephants that were small and were ridden "bare back." Looking forward to the next installments, thanks.

I haven't seen new videos in a while. I would love to see it through to its conclusion.

Really like your 28mm videos, even if I’m not into all the periods, having a significant investment in 15mm already though means it’s not a route I can go down, particularly given all the terrain needs that go with it, terrain again that I already have in 15mm. I really like this Epic release, I have the Napoleonics that I plan to use with the Blucher rule set (will keep the AB 18s for brigade games) and again, did I not already have these armies in 15mm I’d have been interested in these. Only thing I’m not keen on with the Epic stuff, and haven’t been all along, is the 60mm base widths, 40 would have been much better IMO.
