Wow! Nurse, carpenter, painter, welder, landscaper, rancher. A true description of a ranch woman. Ranchers, farmers, homesteaders have to be whatever the job calls for. A jack of all trades. I am always impressed. All of you get high scores from me.
Good tip. And even if you can't find proper caps I've used round pieces that I've cut from styrofoam blocks push them down in there and then silicone around and over and it works perfectly.
Hey guys, great build, but just a suggestion (I'm not a master welder, that was, my dad, he taught me a lot, I'm just a hobbyist) try grinding the area your going to weld to, to bear metal (shiny) it will get better penetration and strength. The Flux core welders work better that way.
Good tip. Rusty steel is harder to weld, and more so if someone is inexperienced. More splatter. And gives a lower quality weld, both because the rust is messing things up during the welding and because it is harder do a good job. And it does not matter what kind of welding, mig/mag, tig or stick. Or torch too. So, next time Danielle, take your time grinding off the rust and let the boys wait, and you will be surprised how much easier it is to weld, how much nicer it looks. :-)
@@JACKHAMMER82A1 like I said, I'm not a master welder, but I was always told to grind off scale and rust, by my father, and he had me learn by stick welding. While you can, do it with out, my comment is you get better penetrarion and stronger weld with the grinding down the metal.
I think it is wonderful that you are all working together. Danielle's wanting to learn other skills is showing how much she values this NEW way of life. She must be one heck of a nurse.
You all rocked it on that fencing............ALL of YOU! Ya'll know how to work and aren't afraid to do so. That's what speaks so well of your ranch, it's truly going to be a working ranch no matter what. It takes a lot of work and time but it's all worth it getting to your dream and I know you all are going to do well with whatever you decide to do! Danielle was a champ and you two boys always work hard and put out class projects.........everything looks great! I can't wait to see the rest and anticipate when you start on your tiny homes. Praying you get some electricity out there soon to make things a bit easier.....I know it's expensive but gotta do it! Blessings and don't give up just get the mojo going and play the music loud so you can hear it while you work............always keeps me going! Excited for ya'll!
My grand daughter who grew up on a farm, learned to weld from her dad. She teaches high school kids welding, and some of them have made wonderful projects, for themselves and to sell. Girls rock!
She surprised me too, as did Jason. That is when I thought to myself, if they can weld that good on rusty steel, watch out for them if they weld on clean steel. 😊😊😊
Fantastic job all of you!!! Danielle did great welding and you guys did some back busting work on that fence!! It looks amazing and the animals have more playroom to graze!! 🤗🥰✌️🤟
That’s what I love about Danielle, she’s game to try anything.. It’s good you were able to GE the fences up and tight before the four wheeler burned..the fence looks good too .. y’all have been working hard on the property and it shows..
Jared is doing the job I have done in my backyard here with Danielle doing the welding have done this for YEARS before any of you were BORN!!! SHE IS AWESOME WITH THAT!!! Wish I could be at the SHOOT DANG FEST but am just getting better had my first real big meal since last month and I SLEPT LIKE A BABY FOR ALMOST 10 hours!!! Feeling better but I just got to lay low!!! That GREEN PAINT did a great job on the posts !!! YOU ARE ALWAYS WORKING SO HARD YOU YOUNG FOLKS !!!
Ya'll are amazing. You work together like clockwork, no complaints, and improving when necessary. I think it looks better, and means much more having to use what was on hand. Beautiful work!
Love the new fence. Love that Danielle welded.. I've always wanted to dabble in it as a kid, got displaced from my job in Feb of this year ND didn't want to go back to factory work. So I decided I want to go to school for welding.. I'm not gonna lie, I am worried I can't hack it. Watching her do it pushes me more to go for it this Aug. Thank you Danielle for being an inspiration to me. Yall keep doing your awesome work. Love watching this property come to life.
Jason you got the wrong kind of fencing. The goats can get their heads stuck in the fence. Kevin from Hiddenheights Farms has the same kind and he had to get fencing with smaller holes.
Guys I can’t tell you how awesome it is that you know how to do so much. Jason you impress me with your ability to just get it done. You and Jared remind me of my Uncles John and Jim, must be the J names. My uncles can do anything. They are from the generation that you did it all. They are in their later 60’s. Built their own homes, they can build and fix anything. Engines, wield, etc. I swear you two are their duplicates. They are great men not many like them left!!! We are all from Oklahoma so not far from you guys. Keep up the the great work, I know it’s a lot but you guys are rocking it. Bless you!!
Hi. Great job ya'll !! If you build a shelter, consider roofing at a slant to collect water in a trough. A mod large shelter that you can place a hay rack to keep it dry, n rain n snow shelter. Will you have a pathway that all can get back to their sheltered sleeping area? Place your garden next to your water for animals n garden. Maybe place garden in old goat area n just use hot wire to keep them out of your garden; but when garden is done, take the wire down easily to let the animals eat it down n as a food source down the road later in the year. Maybe build raised beds like Sawyer Ridge built w metal panels for sides n practice Hugelkultur Gardening. You have a lot of limb debris, that instead of burning, fill your garden beds with, n keep rabbits out of. The garden beds will last a LONG time. That area is already fenced in to keep deer out of n would make a good orchard area, no goat or deer eating young trees ; except for rabbits n dogs; round chicken around young trees. Looking forward to seeing more growth n building. Peace to you and yours
Way to go Danielle!! Jason and Jared you two work great together!! I don’t believe y’all got a lazy bone about y’all!! Everything looks awesome like always!! 😎 Take safe!!! Love y’all!!!!!
For something that you totally created from ideas in your head and repurposed stuff from the property, it looks DAM GOOD! Danielle would be great as a professional welder. She did a great job.
I am so proud of you guys, superb job, well done! And Jason that was absolutely awesome that you taught Danielle how to weld, and Danielle you did a mighty fine job welding, way to go young lady!
Bet your glad to have this done before Summertime, exactly where you need to be for such a young ranch. It’s hard setting up a ranch and we understand it can’t be done in just a few months. Great job all 3 of you.💖💖🇦🇺
You are all amazing. Need a fenced area for the animals, you all get it done. Brilliant fence, it looks beautiful. Danielle you are a champion. Gorgeous and able to do any task. Hats off to you girl. Loved this video ❤️❤️❤️
Love the will make do with what I have on hand attitude. Lot of sweat equity put in on the Shoot Dang ranch by all. Aint no right way or wrong way, its your way. Nuff said!!!!!
It is looking awesome, it is so great you are repurposing those old metal poles; using what you have. I love that girl, she isn’t afraid of trying new things 👍
Infrastructure before outer. that is right get things in place before jumping on tiny house. do building on your own time. So far all of you are doing a fantastic job!!!!
You 3 are turning out to be some fine Ranch Hands, for sure! One suggestion, Danielle, when welding, pull your hair back, don't want to get it burned by sparks from welding! Looks like you're laying down some nice straight welds! I tried, but never got comfortable with stick welding. We didn't have wire fed back then...
I agree with pulling Danielle's hair back & even tucking it under her jacket*Hoodia. I wish I had been taught to do TIG*MIG*Wirefeed welding! It definitely looks another easier than the Stick Welding I was taught as a Millwright decades ago!! Danielle's is "killing" the Ranch Woman position!! The guys are as usual, doing an awesome job too!!
The fence looks awesome! Love learning new skills, Danille is definitely fitting in as a rancher. The ranch is really coming together! I can't wait for the next project!
You'all did fantastic work it all looks great, so proud of Danielle on her first Welding gig..... most things aren't that hard if there's another around to coach and teach the new person, it's how we all learn to do things..... one good thing about YT... =)
As someone who works with metal pretty frequently, when I'm cutting metal and the sparks are coming my way I use a leather apron to protect my clothes. It can be a little warm but it stops a lot of hot sparks from my skin and clothing
You guys are busting butt. Your doing a fantastic job and that Danielle is kicking some butt too. I am so proud of you all. It will be awesome when you finish.
Y'all are SHOOT DANG'N THE HELL OUT OF THAT PLACE! IT LOOKS AWESOME! Smart people work with what they have regardless how big or small their bank account is! Great job guys. I've built many miles of pipe fence and corrals out of old well pipe and sucker rod. Not great stuff to weld on. I've cut saddles with a torch chopsaw and angle grinder. My go to was an angle grinder. Clean quick and the most versatile tool you cannot have enough of. Danielle great job on welding. I've taught many people how to weld and alot of them couldn't hardly manage to stick to pieces of clean steel together let alone old drill pipe with Flux core wire. Get er done y'all
Jason and Daneille please check out your local dump or recycling center they have piles of windows and wood piles with lumber and metal you can repurpose to help your homestead, on my camp every was recycled and repurposed if you checked out my bathroom outside with shower -get your self a load of free wood chips for a potty and use it to dump in a pile and it will compose down and you will have soil for your gardens
Water for your second pasture get a 375 gallon tote. Then spray paint the tank black. Go to tractor supply purchase a 2 gallon float container and hook it up to the tote.
Awesoe job, I have put 100's of t=post in all kinds of soil, that alone is hard work/ Fence stretching is good job, but going back and putting all the clips in sucks LOL.. Looks nice painted black on the old pipe
So much accomplished, looks fantastic. Really appreciate you explaining things along the way and kudos for all the camera work involved. You all are killing it!
You guys ROCK It just looks so darn good! Hay you know those goats will flat eat those bush'es that have briers thorns right to the ground they love em.
Have to say here..people saying do this..buy that..make this… they dont realise how much things cost. Living on a very limited budget ourselves we know materials get purchased in manageable amounts. Might take a few weeks to get it all..might take couple months. It gets done ..when we can afford the goods. Good tip. And even if you can't find proper caps I've used round pieces that I've cut from styrofoam blocks push them down in there and then silicone around and over and it works perfectly.
Jason I’m so happy you found a good positive upbeat non complaining, hardworking Wonderful woman! This fence looks awesome!
you have happy goats and happy LGD puppies with their new area

Always thought u have to grind metal clean for mig. But stick welding you can weld rusty. ???

Yes! Grind to bare metal before welding.
Danielle is a welding rock Star 🌟. You are all kicking butt and your dreams are coming true one step at a time. So proud 🥹 of all 3 of you.
