Orrendo. Cantanti, rifiutatevi di cantare in queste messe in scena, il pubblico si sta allontanando velocemente piu' di quanto non immaginiate.
I am quite interested and do hope at some point this is streamed...Tristan und Isolde is one of my favorites 💙💙❤❤
Extravagant und ziemlich gruselig mit diesen Puppen... Ich würde gern mal wieder eine "langweilige", traditionelle Aufführung von Tistan sehen.
Regietheater run amok!! Herr Warlikowski it's Wagner NOT Growtowski.

Is it possible now for a director to say, “Maybe this takes place in Ireland, Cornwall, and Brittany? And since these events took place hundreds of years before the 1920s, in Paris or the Titanic, maybe we will dress them accordingly?” No, of course not!
El Sr. Kaufmann en los años 50 del siglo XX sería un mediocre Kurwenal. Y ahora nos quieren hacer creer que es el mejor Tristan que hay en el Mundo. Es increíble.
More a Melot or a Young Sailor (Kurwenal is a bariton and Kaufmann low register in actually inaudible)
Hervorragende Stimmen in einer - für mich - falschen Aufführung. Schade!
Mit Petrenko wird diese Produktion sehr beeindruckend.
This production looks interesting and I’m excited but I wonder if the passion and intimacy can be conveyed through this staging? Some of the choices seem distracting.
Oh I wish they would release this on DVD.

Ce metteur en scène est complètement "zinzin", c'est ridicule et enlève toute la beauté de Wagner !

Wieder mal einer in Unterhosen auf der Bühne! Ohne geht's nicht mehr. Auch in jedem Ballet muss das sein.

Ich frage mich, ob das für die beiden Hauptdarsteller Kaufmann und Harteros nicht eine Nummer zu groß ist. Anderseits hat Bachler niemand anderes. - Heinz
Das hängt vom Dirigent ab. Es haben früher auch lyrischere Sopranen gesungen (Johanna Meier, die Bundschuh z.B) und Waltraud Meier war alles andere hochdramatisch. (Für mich war die W. Meier immer eine lyrischer Sopran gewesen)

1/ A bit shameful that Kaufmann states that Wagner didn't understand much about voices. The real problem is that Kaufmann understand very little of singing. He used to have a nice dark lyric voice and he believed he was a heldentenor. If anyone would listen to him live they'd realised how tiny his voice is.
2/ The old ladies at the Staatsoper. They are all there for the first act, but after the first intermission, 1/4 of the auditorium has left.
3/ This production is a sad copy/melange of Christoph Marthaler's Tristan and Daldr'ys The Hours.
4/ Petrenko gives a beautiful performance.
If it's a BayerischeStaatsoper production, you know it's going to be dreck. Poor Jonas, Anja, and Kirill.
@Jim: I'm not sure if you are right. I have already seen very good productions in Munich, but also very bad. Same as everywhere. But I think that the director does not know enough about Wagner and Tristan...

@@rq3tgunm After The Cage(TM) I will never trust Warlikowski again.
With Warlikosky you know you can face both the best and the worst depending on how his imagination fits the script or not. This one seems a bit far fetched , but it’s difficult to have an opinion on such a brief excerpt. But what he says in the interview makes me doubtful.
Well, just what we see here, there’s no doubt.
