Sir mere condenser mic me -10Db 0Db ka oppsion hai muje rap vocal record karna hai so konsa Db me record karu ?
Need your help. I frequently listen to music or conversations that appear very loud even at a low volume setting of the knob, say 4/10, but whenever I record music myself, reaching 3dB peak in the DAW ,appear very low even at high volume, say 8 or 9/10 when played back. The first mentioned louder song /voice also reaches around 4-5dB in the DAW. Why this difference in loudness with same dB? How can I get a louder song without clipping/distortion not recorded above 3dB. Can we have different LUFS at the same dB?

You are really doing a great job, appreciate the efforts and the knowledge you are sharing....but a doubt....
You said during recording levels to be maintained at -10 because after all the tracks are recorded the sum will be @- 4 to -6 db.... and again you said mixing the levels should be at -4 to -6db.... hiw to maintain both the conditions.... during mixing the level is gonna be increase, how to control that. Can you lage a video of how to do it practically.... it will be really useful thanks....
You’re right. For that try to keep the levels below -10 (I prefer mine around -12/-14 depending upon the composition). Make sure before starting the mix your stereo out has enough headroom (atleast 6-8 dBs). After mixing it shouldn’t change much, but yes it does mostly because of parallel processing, FX etc.

You mentioned earlier that gain and volume are different. Does not the gain plugin change the color of the sound? I use pre fade metering to gauge gain, is that correct?
Yes it does, but that can still be controlled by using saturation plugins. That’s why it’s recommended to gain stage while recording properly. Cheers!
Hi brother I am using Apollo twin interface and I want to record multi microphone at same time in multiple channel can you show how I do that for instance you showed tabla mix and you had 3 channels so how you did that.thanks
Since Apollo Twin doesn’t allow more than 2 inputs, you need to expand it either via Apollo Expanded or ADAT connection (adds upto 8 inputs). Cheers!

@Amit Devyan not necessary! Sometimes a melody is written first. There is no fixed process! And i prefer this process more because the feel is maintained. Lyrics can be written later according to subdivisions and syllables.

Sir, I used a compressor on my lead synths and uska gain maine thora reduce kiya bt to get sufficient headroom, i also brought down the fader of the channel, so is it wrong? And if yes then what should I do to reduce my gain and get sufficient headroom?
You can reduce the “make up gain” from the compressor rather than pulling down the fader. For this, read about pre fader and post fader, you’ll know why I said that. Cheers!

Brother vsts ki gainstaging ham limiter se set kar sakte hai kya
Limiter sirf clip kardega higher signals ko…lower volume will not get affected…it is better to use gain plugin for gainstaging…but it can be experimental to get two different sounding sounds…
