My wife’s first ever set of irons were Mizuno Astrons and she loved them but now she is a big fan of Taylormade and uses their irons and woods! She got a Mizuno M-Craft V putter and after I tried it, I took my Scotty Phantom 8.5 out my bag to go with the M craft IV, the wide blade and nobody seems to give Mizuno credit for their Putters!
It’s not a weight in the 4-7 it’s a fill for the slot in those heads…glad to see you finally did a review on them just wish you would have got all the information like you do on the other brands you cover
James you pointed out “where do mizuno go from here” because they have made such a great product for so long. Imo it’s like titleist, you don’t buy the new titleist driver because it has futuristic design features like the Qi10 or a callaway or the loudest driver release in the catalog, you buy them for their quality, reputation, & performance.
I just got a set of Mizuno Pro 245 5-GW bent 2* weak to match the 243 lofts. Better looking than the 243, better forgiveness, and nearly the same feel.
I just got fitted into the MP 245's and I have to say that they are the best irons I ever hit... I didn't hit a single bad shot during the entire fitting... Brilliant ball flight, workability, and feel... Absolutely a must buy imo... Great video guys...
Went for a fitting earlier this year and walked away with the 245s, very soft feeling and very forgiving on the miss strikes. Have been amazing so far this year. 19 hdc
Well, because of your (brilliant) videos, I bought some Wilson Dynapower forged irons untested from Golf Clubs For Cash, so if they don't play well tomorrow, you're in trouble lol!
I have Wilson D9 forged and absolutely love them, everyone I've let have a go with them all day how surprisingly good they feel, they've definitely helped my game as well, not going to change them for a long time.
James is getting lazy and did zero preparation for this review..... Mizuno has always treated him well over the years you would think he would have done the work to educate himself on the product. I think he actually owned a set of Pro 223 irons so this is a bit confusing.
@@TZOID08Yes totally, better to give no information rather than incorrect. I’m sure daily posts are tough to maintain, but quality is better than quantity.
@@grahamwilcox4027 Exactly.... I have watched several of his videos where Mizuno custom fit and built his clubs so I would have thought he would know their product.
I bought the 243s (4-PW) this year after playing the JPX 919 Hot Metals. I’ve found I’m playing better with the smaller blade length, can work the ball, and haven’t lost any distance without the occasional jumper the JPXs would have. The offset on 4-6 suites my eye, they provide a stable baby draw which I like on the long irons.
I recently bought the Hot Metal 921 irons and have to say they are the best irons I've ever used, I love the look and the sound and most importantly for a casual golfer like myself the forgiveness, I've only played 2 rounds with them and a few driving range sessions, so still getting used to them but very promising so far.
I hit the 243's at my local shop after watching the club champion review of them when they came out. Absolutely amazing clubs. I loved those and the P770 but the 770 was a bit harder to shape for me. I didn't buy either cause I can't spend that right now but they're at the top of my list for when I can afford to upgrade.
James , I have to say I'm disappointed that you didn't prepare for this review and know that there is no " weighting" it's " Micro Slot and what you are pointing at is the cavity cover on the back of the iron. 4120 CHROMOLY WITH FLOW MICROSLOT (4-7 IRON) A wider, longer micro-slot to create a more expansive high energy area of clubface - resulting in a higher flight and faster ball speeds.
James keeps talking about cost, I purchased clubs in 1984 Wilson tour blades, my receipt shows 3-SW £215 woods 1,3 and 5 £195. Inflation over the last 40 years, means clubs are cheaper now than in 1984. We also now have much more choice, with DTC brands producing great clubs, and Wilson re entering the market with very cheap equipment. McGregor, Jack Nicklaus’s old clubs are so cheap now
Another fun vid with GM and yourself. Mizuno's look fantastic as always. Probably suffering from familiarity as they always look great but still verrrry similar to previous versions.
I would love a set of new irons it’s too much money for new clubs now tho. Fair enough there’s decent sets for a few hundred quid but I can buy second hand for a fraction of the price and honesty don’t know if a new set would shave strokes . Obviously getting fitted would help but that’s extra money. Great video guys love the content ,thanks ❤
I bought my mizuno last year I will not get mizuno anymore great clubs just here in oz that only give you 2 shaft options and both shaft are crap that they offered me in the fitting for there price I’ll go titlest

I tested those last week at Golf Mart dude they are sweet. You will not be disappointed

No weight in 243s, microslot 4-7 and softer steel in 8-GW, all have copper underlay for softer feel. 245s have tungsten weight in 4-7.

I have the MP223 and I was sad about how beautiful the new model is... Love them by the way.
I still play my hogan blades from the mid 90s. Work just fine.

I got the 243s with the Mitsubishi MMT 105s for no upcharge which is a big reason why I went with them. Feel great, look great, no complaints.
Playing the 223 version. Yes, they look great and feel great.

My main question after watching this was.. Tinned or fresh tomatoes with your breakfast? love both your channels keep up the good work guys!

James Love your videos always good and never boring thanks for your time
I need to test these against my PXG 0317's along with T150's.
Another fun vid with GM and yourself. Mizuno's look fantastic as always. Probably suffering from familiarity as they always look great but still verrrry similar to previous versions.
I have to admit they are beautiful but personally I think they are just MP25 irons from years past

Mizuno makes some great Clubs. for the Mid Handicap they are one of the best.
I'm guessing these are not strong lofted like a lot of hollow bodies are. 32* on the 7i maybe?
Have owned 4 sets of Mizuno starting with the Pro Originals through to the Hot Metal Pros. Different clubs completely but all 4 sets offered something
I would love to do a review on the 245s James!
James has made a good point, where do Mizuno go? They have produced such a good stable of irons, there is a type for every player demands, next?
Love mizuno using mp20 hmb love em
6:34 Yeah! S23's are the best
Great review guy’s
I got fitted for p790 at scottsdale and it was the worst mistake I made in my golfing career I should of never got rid of my mp20 hmb.
So gutted😒
In the current economy, no way could I spend this much on irons. I drive on with used ebay clubs from a few decades ago.
I bought my mizuno last year I will not get mizuno anymore great clubs just here in oz that only give you 2 shaft options and both shaft are crap that they offered me in the fitting for there price I’ll go titlest
How many sets of irons does a person need?
I'm gaming these
There's nothing about them I don't like
The ascending bounce from 4-GW is great
Prefer the 921 923 range lads 👍
Gaz doesn't cut cost on equipment........but balls are another matter altogether 😂
The mizuno pro trio are 😘
Looking a Gaz’s glasses hes made another poor decision 😢
“It’s a real player’s club”. What’s a non-player’s club, for God’s sake?
No left handed 243’s Boo
Look like cocktail sticks in gaz's hands 😂😂😂
I’m having a crisis after only 1 min 22 seconds.
Little late?
What I’m hearing: they’re great, they’re great….theyre not so great. 🤷🏻♂️
So you mean you’ve seen a balanced review?
I think gaz need to get a new hobby with that putt 😂
Horrible looking irons and don’t blend , might as well go 241 with 245 long irons and get them bent to blend
Clubs are too damned expensive 😡😵💫
