Tens of millions of Chinese viewers would have been riveted to Singapore's Tuesday night encounter against Thailand after China's 1-0 loss to South Korea.
Thailand defeated cellar side Singapore 3-1, with goalkeeper Hassan making 11 saves in a man-of-the-match performance. However, thanks to a stronger head-to-head record against Thailand, China advanced to the next round, along with group leaders South Korea.
Regardless of the outcome, it was a significant game; a game changer.
The following day, Hassan Sunny became an instant sensation, with Chinese football fans and livestreamers flocking to his food shop in Tampines to show their support and admiration.

One of my friends was a former goalie for the $ingapore National Team. It's heartening to see Hassan playing so well art the age of 40.
