- How to force the mobile phone networks to 2G 3G 4G/LTE on Android
- input the USSD code #*#4636#*#
- the window will popup,
- select the option titled Phone Information
- Set Preferred Network Type
- WCDMA preferred will use both 2g and 3g whichever has the better reception
- For 4G/LTE select LTE only.
- For 3G select WCDMA only.
- For 2G select GSM only.

Hello Sir, I'd not know what happen when i type the code and converted it to 4g network, the other sim did not show making only one sim showing instead of two sim. And when I tried another sim card to the sim 2 that is not showing in Itel a33 plus it bring no sim card. Sir please tell what I can do to let the sim show.

In my phone LTE\GSM auto (PRL) network not found.
auto makes shift to 2G or LTE/4G based on higher signal(2G or LTE/4G) strength.
Mai apna phone me 4G net chalana ke liya kon sa network choose karo
Some manufacturers disabled this option in their phones. But still you can force the network trough settings -> Network & Internet -> Mobile Network -> Advance (Preferred Network Type to 4G).

How can you do something similar to this on a device say a tablet it doesn't have a dial pad so not sure how to get into any settings
This will work only with the SIM enabled tablets.

Didn't work for my LG Q7+ ... I chose the "Preferred" because when I chose "Only" the network just kept searching for several minutes & then came back with an "x" over the network bars. When I chose "preferred" it took a few seconds and took me back to 2g. I'm not in a rural area. I live in a major city. Any idea what the issue could be?
Can you try by going near to windows(Windows receives best signals). Even in major cities has signal reception problems.
Mine was set to GSM only. I couldn't select the any other connection.

No problem to phone at all. Once you restart your phone, it automatically reset to default setting.

In my phone first there was shift easily from 3g to 2g and service was also good because I am in rural area hostel due to studies there is no 4g service but now my phone sim only works on 3g mode and as I say there is problem of 3g 4g service it not works properly I cannot make a call from my room also I have to go out side but previously my sim automatically shift toh 2g if there is no service of 3g 4g data so plzz help me
After opening phone information as shown in the video, go to preferred network type and select "WCDMA preferred" instead of "WCDMA only" which will shift to 2G when ever there is no 3G signal.

I have Galaxy S9 model G960U1. my data network is LTE but voice network is CDMA 1XRTT. I have a feeling that’s the reason VOLTE does not work on my phone even though its enabled and Sprint is offering it. How do I change the voice network to LTE as well. Thanks.
There should be setting under SIM cards settings to choose VoLTE. You might need to enable it.

Some phones disabled this option. In that case you can find a setting to force your phone to 4G/LTE under network settings.

I tried USSD Code in Nokia 6. It doesn't work. Network always stuck to 2G. Also I could manually change it to 4G. The issue is, it goes back to 2G immediately. Can you please help to fix this.

does this works on LG L FINO? my phone is only on 2G, It has signal but when I use internet (my sim is 4G) it doesn't work like it has to be does.
Your phone should first support 4G.
My problem is that when I switch to LTE only after sometimes I loose network then I'll be force to go back to setting and choose LTE/CDMA then betwork will come back.....before I choose back LTE only again

Just restart / go to airplane mode and come back. It will reset to default one.

Papa Bear: It will not do any damage to your phone. It just looks always for 4G /LTE/3G based on the setting you choosing. It’s make to your default one if you move to another tower.
