As I lay here with tears rolling down my face, I realize that it's not simply the flawless technique and finely choreographed Nationals piece (which should be applauded of course), but the fact that Ricky embodies the very essence of joy and desire and freedom that sits deep within my body and longs to emerge. He does physically what I cannot, but speaks it like it is straight from my soul. There are very few artists in the world that have the purity and ability to share their talents genuinely and without pretense and egotism. I don't know Ricky, but I feel his energy through me wanting to burst out when he dances. THAT is the power of the Arts. And THAT is the power of a rare (and incredibly honed) gift.
His movement is so precise with the music, the height in every one of his jumps is impeccable, and his control with every extension and turn is flawless. I nearly melted at 1:50. I am seventeen years old as well and am a dancer and he is such an inspiration to dance because he didn't just have good technique and movements, he lived in that piece and watching a dancer put their heart into their work is incredible.

this is the kind of dancing i miss. i love how he's dancing from his heart and you just don't see that in any styles nowadays. it's always trick after trick and a thousand turns but never just dancing which is truly beautiful. this is beautiful!

This is one of the most amazing contemporaries I have seen produced from the modern "contemporary" genre. I love that you told a story and showed you're amazing extension without making th entire dance look like an exercise
I bet the choreographers on sytycd are chomping at the bit to work with this young man. I hope he'll have the opportunity to work with Mia Michaels and Travis Wall. They are always able to bring out the most amazing performances from the best dancers. This is one incredibly talented young man.
