As a married man myself I have to say that the reason why men act like that is because we want to make sure that you have the qualities that were actually looking for in an actual wife The way this guy went about it might not be the best way but I kind of understand where he's coming from although he did it in a terrible way

OK, this sis, could have flipped the script and said, "Let's see how you can financially hold the bills down." As a woman, my husband proved he's marriage material. He does manly things I take for granted. I got my oil changed, putting gas in the cars, making sure bills are paid...And I don't have to ask or demand these things. He's a trustworthy man! And for myself, I work, I'm highly educated, I contribute to our bills, etc. No one is testing anything out to see if they're marriage material... that's a bunch of bull$@#!!!!!

I suspect hes a narcissist using faith as a method of control. Cant know without all the data but in this little piece it was glaringly obvious. He wants her to be everything he wants and put her in a place she can ask for nothing because its not her place. Glad she moved out. Hope she moved on. He was seething with Judge Lynn because she put him in his place and he likely felt humiliated. He seemed like he didn't like the thought of a woman making more than a man either. One of my favorite episodes for sure.

A marriage proposal should not be dependent upon her performance. She needs to run. He will dog her out. She will not be happy. He will make her miserable. I'd rather be alone than live with someone like him!!! Whew! He expects way too much. He needs to look at himself. What does he bring to the table? I'm sure she does all the housework, grocery shopping, laundry, cooking, dishes, garbage as well as works full time and goes to school. She better run while she can.

It’s always the men terrible at leading, that claim to expect to be leaders in their household. I think it’s an insecurity thing. They know no one would ever follow them so they box their partners into that position. The sad part is they’re always lucky enough to get partners insecure but wonderful. They continue to hold them down so they never see their potential. This was excellent advice, because once this woman sees her potential, she’s going to wake up and leave his ass. The trick is can he continue to keep her sleeping.
That's a true statement the amount of time people spend just trying to get into a relationship like they are empty of any other desires or passions but get a man. I think judge was wrong if she was a happy self loving woman they wouldn't be together because he'd be insecure and jealous of her success..

I asked what he got to bring to the table? He said, "I'm the man," absolutely nothing! I thought he was joking, but every conversation was him asking me to do this and that for him before we even started dating. Soo, I blocked 🚫 him and never looked back.
This brother is a walking red flag. He's rigid and inflexible because he thinks he's always right and perfect. The ring is not a magical thing that will automatically erase his controlling behavior. She needs to take this opportunity to reflect on the situation & hopefully move on.

Like many folks, had some big challenges in life but try to stay on track as discerning Believer for past 40 years & my sweet younger sister 43years, who loves The Lord, an amazing person who deserved a good husband but they were in & barely survived a cultish group whose founder was a scamming, thieving player🙄(shocking, right?). They finally left, then shunned (another shocker 🙄). That gathering (not a church per se) & its twisted notions, has had serious long-term repercussions. . . still 😢😢😢

The intent of expectations is good, get clear on what each person wants but to have such strict expectations is unreasonable. Like you need expectations but must have flexibility and be compromising and listen well and he has none of that. It was never gonna work.

Bruh may need to get a better understanding of scripture before he starts half quoting verses. Even the best pastors preachers and Bible teachers continue to study daily because nobody will ever know it all. The fact that he didn't understand the interpretation of ephesians 5:22-29 shows that no one has given him the bare exegetical meaning of those passages. I had a co-worker who went to marriage counseling and came to work mad because of that very verse ephesians 5:22 she was going to call off her wedding because she assumed that her husband to be was going to be a task master and I had to explain to her that along with the rest of the verses that her soon to be husband was to love her and cherish her as he loved himself even going as far as giving up his life for her as Jesus did for the church. She calmed down they got married and are still married but we laugh about it from time to time. It is amazing how many things are misquoted in the Bible, such as "money is the root of all evil", actually the Bible said 1st Timothy 6:10 for the love of money is the root of all evil ,just adding a couple of words makes all the difference to the meaning of that verse.
