I love that you’re both getting so into Jinjer. I didn’t expect that after watching your “Pisces” reaction! As far as being able to understand what she’s saying, Tati says she spent a lot of time writing her lyrics, so enunciation is so important to her-she wants people to hear what she’s saying. I think another song that might sound like there’s a No Doubt influence is “Judgment and Punishment”. The one-take vocal performance is great. (Or if you insist on seeing the full band for this song, check out their live performance in Melbourne). So far, you’ve only seen them perform at festivals during the day. I’d highly recommend a show where they’re headlining.. “Pit of Consciousness” live in Kiev is phenomenal.
The stank face when she goes really low says it all. ;) This was the song that made me a hardcore fan, because of the message and how it resonates with my personal journey having grown up and lived my life as a rightwinger before being forced to confront the lies that whole ideology is built on and shifting 180 degrees. Then the first time I saw them live I happened to be standing next to a stack of speakers and those low growls at the 4-minute mark of the song shook my whole body to my bones. I'm used to feeling a beat shake my body, but feeling her words in every cell was unforgettable. The three songs where she always does an extended low growl section are this, Pit Of Consciousness, and Home Back, but she sprinkles them into most of their songs live while changing up the growls pretty dramatically between shows to relieve her boredom (for example, they did 152 shows in 2019). Sit Stay Roll Over live in Melbourne has a fairly extended low growls section, and is the performance where she uses the most vocal tricks in one song I've seen. Another song with reggae is Judgement & Punishment, and the one-take video is fire. And yeah, the guys are killing it in this song. I love Roman and Eugene dueling on guitar and bass, and the variety of drum work Vlad does.
Jeffrey, you're brave to talk freely about your "conversion" from being a believer in right wing ideology to becoming a more tolerant and inclusive person. Unfortunately, most people can never admit their point of view was wrong. Good for you for becoming more flexible in your beliefs. Tatiana would be VERY pleased to know her lyrics moved you so much. Your mention of Jinjer doing 152 shows in one year reminds us that Jinjer is an incredibly hard-working band. I think being raised in a country with so many systemic problems led them to work extra hard to make it in this world. Tati, Roman, Vlad and Eugene are good examples that talent + hard work = success. Congrats Jeffrey on seeing Jinjer live!

Great reaction! The whole band is technically very great, they pull complex arrangements off so easily it seems. This is also my favorite live performance by them. 👏🏻❤️
Good Reaction, one can see the Gwen Stefani influence at the end of this song. In the same concert, "Words of Wisdom" (Live, Napalm Records) is another epic performance worthy of a reaction. It is literally the very next song. The concert is the Atlas Weekend Festival in Kyiv 2017 and the band was on fire that day
thanx alot for talking bout jinje going to Train in Århus...5 mins later, tickets are bought 🤘🤘🤘. they were in Copenhagen, pumpehuset in nov 2019, a damn good Concert.
New Jinjer tour starts in October I think, Going to the second show that is stopping here in Vancouver!, Not sure where you are but they released a schedule of the tour dates on their Instagram.
Not trying to be a jerk or anything but the audio on this is a little lacking. Can’t hardly hear the drums at all and can barely hear the vocals. It’s pretty much all guitar sound. Wish I could recommend a fix for you but I’m clueless as to how recording reactions works. Anyway good comments and keep plugging away at it. I’m sure you’ll figure it out. P.S. Jinjer is going to tour the USA this fall. Schedule is out.
Came for the Jinjer, stayed for the low growl. Have you watched Falling in Reverse “Popular Monster”? Ronnie Radke is definitely an artist you should be familiar with
Tatiana might not be the best female growler out there (that's always a subjective topic) but you're right about the rest: her growls make more fans amongst people who never like growling than any other female screamer, her growls are clear, diverse and dynamic instead of unintelligible and monotonic, and they always fit the mood of the songs instead of being the same from beginning to end no matter how much the songs change. : )
@@jen.g. - That's why I don't give too much credit when people's opinion about who's the best is based on a personal preference rather than on a rational analysis.
When somebody says "the best growler" often that means "the one who makes the deepest growls". In that sense Tatiana is not the best female growler. Somebody says that Som Pluijmers has the deepest growls - probably it's true. But in sense "the best singer who constantly uses growls and screams" - it wouldn't be far from the truth if we'd call Tatiana the best. And it's close to truth in many different ways.

FYI: Audio playback is out of balance. Barely hear drums or Tati. Thanks for checking on this.

Glad you loved this one :)
If you like this vibe check out Tatiana's one take vocal of Judgement and Punishment next.
Home back drop at the end is the lowest I've ever heard Tatiana go... if you root for lows... you must see that one

great reaction, if you want more of the Jinjer reggae vibe you need judgement and punishment, I would suggest Tatiana's one take vocal performance.

I think it’s problematic when people state “the best” rather than “my favorite”. But that’s ingrained in us thanks to award shows, etc.

Check out Judgement and Punishment one take vocal....hope to see them come this December in Albuquerque. Got my ticket already.
Import the music can’t even hear the vocals or drums. Great reaction tho. And yes Jinjer in insane. I have seen them live and they don’t disappoint
