Abby Jo, this is so calming. If your husband or you does the editing, it is some of the best! The music, your compilations, everything is just excellent.
I so enjoyed your video. I always look forward to seeing a new one. I, too, love simple living, the old ways, vintage and antique items, old photos and pictures. I also live in the UP. Munising Ware wooden bowls and products are always a find in this area. I have collected many over the years. Thanks for sharing a bit of your life with us. ☀️🌸🍓❤️
Yes….it’s ok to have two pitcher and Bowls!!! I also have 2…. My mom made them in the 70’s for my grandmothers… my grandmother gifted hers to me since she new how much I loved it… and when my other grandmother passed.. I was the only one on the family who wanted her pitcher and bowl. Great video love all the frugal tips 🤗 and shop alongs.
You might like to know "The Blue Boy" was painted by Thomas Gainsborough and "Pinkie" by Sir Thomas Lawrence. They were purchased by Henry E. Huntington in the 1920s, and hang in the Huntington Gallery in California.
Pinky's mate is Blue Boy. My daughter and son in law collect Blue Boy, and have at least a dozen! One is even a needlepoint! They are all thrifted, and it's so fun finding him! He's all over their house! There's even a statue of him in their fish tank! ❤️
I lived at edge of Appalachia trail in very rural area...so electric went out often and could be out for1-2 weeks. I filled wash pitchers with bowl in bathrooms and bedrooms when storms were coming....so we had water to bathe or add to toilet tank to be able to flush toilets. WHEN NOT IN USE, I PUT DRIED FLOWERS IN PITCHERS.
Dear Abby Jo, yes, that is Carnival glass and it might be from the beginning of the 20´th century, because it is Art Nouveau. So maybe, you have found a treasure! I Love your videos, thank you for the great tips and have a relaxing and beautiful hygge weekend. With love, Daniela XX
Abby! My grandmother had the old lady and old man pictures on her living room wall. As a kid I called them Mr. and Mrs. North! I don’t know what happened to them, but yes they are very calming to look at. Hope you find her mate!😊
I just order my Pinkie and Blue Boy off Etsy. Momma has had a set as long as I can remember. I have been searching for just the right set for quite a while. The originals hang in the Huntington library herons Southern California. Painted by two separate artist they were hung together and because he is Blue Boy they call her Pinkie even though her actual name is very long and formal.
Oh Abby Jo ,that beautiful domed glass with the spray of dried flowers is just so gorgeous. What a beautiful idea. The candle holder and little mirror is so adorable too. Your home is looking absolutely dreamy. New gallery wall looks amazing with all the gold frames and the way you've positioned them. You constantly inspire me to make sure I include a little beauty in my days whenever I can. Thank you for inviting us inside . Second hand toys and games are fantastic 🥰💜
cranberry red velvet or silk background would be good for bubbled frame. A lace panel background with a winter holly bouquet tied by a thin velvet ribbon would look darling for winter months. You could change bouquets with seasons and dab backs with elmers glue to keep bouquets in place. Braided wheat ornament with crimson and gold leaves for fall with your wool background, would look lovely too. spring and summer would be lovely with floral bouquets.
Thank you for opening your lovely home and sharing your wonderful thrift store finds. You have blessed me with all of your recipes, decorating and wisdom as you look to the simple ways of making your life so meaningful for your family! Sending blessings ❤️
I love your videos and sometimes find myself rewatching them. The only time I ever "regretted" stocking my pantry is when we moved. 😄 I should have thought through a better system of packing/moving all of the heavy jars and cans. Aside from that, my stocked pantry brings me so much joy.
You have such a neat and soothing way with everything that you do. I am the opposite~~always hurrying and slap-dashing things together. I am trying to learn to slow down, be more mindful, and inhabit a more calm persona. I always enjoy your videos as a peaceful part of my day. God bless!
I, like a lot of other people use tinned tomatoes quite frequently, I’ve noticed that almost half of the tin is juice, so I put this juice in a little plastic bag and freeze it , then when I make a curry or casserole I have instant tomato juice instead of opening a full tin.
Abby Jo, Pinkie is one of many prints that were part of Italian made home decor. A lot of the prints are in brass filigree frames in different styles and sizes marked Made in Italy. I have a collection of them. The prints are more like thin magazine photos and most are glued to the backer board. There are prints of children and flower arrangements.
I LOVE how your Gallery Wall has turned out!! Your Sitting Room is coming together so nicely! I LOVE Thrift Shopping!! I haven't done it in 3 months. Gotta wait til we get to Our New Home and only buy things that I can use 🙂🙂🙂. Hope you have a beautiful weekend!! ☀️💐☕
I have a very old set of Pinkie and Blue Boy that I thrifted many years ago. I haven’t been able to date my pieces, but the glass is concave, so I feel like they’re rather old. I’ve loved these two paintings since I was a child, seeing the pair my mother had on our wall, I’d imagine they were rich, or royal family! Ha! The history behind the paintings are very interesting. They were painted by two separate artists, but don’t they just belong together? Great video!
Oh how wonderful, they do sound very old! I love that you use to imagine their background and who they were. That’s the fun thing about art, we all interpret it and enjoy it in different ways ❤️❤️❤️ I can’t wait to find blue boy now 😍
I love your channel so much. You got some great finds at the thrift store. I have mine and my husband bedroom done in old Pinkie and Blue Boy things like HIs & Hers. My favorite set I own is from the late 40's early 50's done in gold wood frames. My grandmother had a set in her room when I was growing up and they remind me of her.
Yes , I have both of them. I put them out at Christmas- they remind me of an old time Christmas! Kind of what I imagine the first Santa and Mrs. Clause 🎅🤶🏻
I've never seen a convexed picture frame! I love what you did with it 😊 Your pitcher and bowl is gorgeous!! I liked what you did with your ice cubes too 😍

Great video Abby Jo! I love the way you create your own "fast food". Kids love it but Take Out can be so expensive and I'm never sure what's in it! I love it when you post...it's like seeing an old friend.
More great finds while thrifting!! Here in the south, we love cotton sheets as they are so much cooler in our hot climate. My favorite brand is Redland Cotton, made right here in Alabama with cotton grown near by. They are pricy but I see them lasting for years. I enjoyed your shopping tips as well Abbyjo. I recently found an outlet grocery store and it has saved me some grocery money which makes me happy.
