Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Three british bands that turned up in the late 1960`s , all three of them are considered to be pioneers of modern hardrock and heavy metal.
Well all 3 bands were formed in 1968. Paranoid (ft. Paranoid, iron man and war pigs) and Made in Japan (ft. this song, Highway Star and Smoke on the water) came out in 70 and Zeppelin IV (ft. Stairway, black dog and rock n roll) came out in 71. So they all pretty much at the exact same time. So glad to see your positive reaction to this. It has been one of my personal favorites every since I first heard it 15 years ago, and in my opinion a very, very underrated song. The musicianship, vocal skill, and soul displayed in this song is jaw dropping.
Deep Purple came out with this in 1970. They had a different vocalist and bass player in their first records, and they were playing kinda brit pop with some psychedelic flavor, until they decided to go with this direction (now known as hard rock). They were the fathers of hard rock alongside Led Zeppelin, who also were starting by that years, although Led Zepp were more blues oriented kind of vibe going on. Pink Floyd, on the other hand, were a psychedelic prog band, and started a little bit earlier. Man, you HAVE to listen Deep Purple´s BURN, from their third reincarnation, when they (again) changed their vocalist and bass player. And if possiible, watch the 1974 live version, it´s mind blowing. Then, watch the 2014 live version from a tribute concert for the late (and great) keyboard player Jon Lord. It features original Deep Purple´s drummer, current DP keyboardist Don Airey, Glenn Hughes, bass player and second voice from that third reincarnation and Iron Maiden´s front man Bruce Dickinson. BURN!
Dear Jamel, You're giving me a great gift. This song has just always been there, for me. I don't remember hearing it for the first time. Watching you is making me listen to it 'through your ears', so to speak. And it's even more magnificent now than it has even been before. And it already was amazing. So, thank you! Thank you!

Glad to see you doing some Deep Purple, my all time favorite band! You picked a good one to start with!
post war britain produced some of the greatest rock musicians of all time, and these five were among the best. this 69-73 was purple's best line up lord and blackmores hammond organ lead guitar combination was never bettered. gillan's vocals were of the scale, keep listning you've more great tracks to catch up on
This was a first thought & second reaction after watching 15 of your other vids ...a must, cuz Deep Purple hits h then HITS hard on levels we didn't know we needed to open.... at right times
THE MIND EXPANSION IS MIND BOGGLING AFTER HEARING ALL THESE SONG UH.!!!
What a great year 1968 was: Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Jethro Tull all arrived in the world of music! It was a great year to be 16. Love your passion brother.
Yes!!!! Deep Purple is a must. Glad to see you got to them.
Highway Star
Space Truckin'
Lazy
Anyone of those should give you an extra dose of stank face. All are from an exceptional album called "Machine Head", which I strongly suggest giving a listen, front to back.
Great reaction, as expected! 👍🏼
How about Maybe I'm a Leo?
always loved this song. and later seen a video of them playing it live for this crowd, crowd was dropped jawed.
Another great DP song to react to would be When a Blind Man Cries.
I remember my older brother playing this in his room on his five piece stero system and my mom screaming"turn that down"!!! Lol. He was only 1 year older than me. Im 61 now but love all these bands that came out during the 70's. Don't forget Uriah heep.."Sunrise"
“It’s about to get real”...
