  • This saddle has gone over 10,000 hard, extreme trail miles over the last 4 years. Used by an Endurance rider turned Competitive Trail rider, for training greenies out to competing. This video was shot after an extreme 3 1/2 hour training ride on a problem pony retraining project.

Great review! Considering this saddle for my retired mare. That's an incredible story about the grab handle- wow! You are one, tough lady!

BTW, when I mentioned 'heavy' vs 'light' in mounting. It's not really weight per say, it is amount of strength and bounce. Just as a light person can be a 'heavy rider' while a heavy person can be a 'light rider'. It's about strength and techniques

Honestly it looks like you could ditch these stirrups and straps if you wanted you wouldn’t be able to get them back on but by the looks of it you could replace it with english stirrup leathers and add any stirrup you want on it

What western cinch do you prefer to use with this saddle? Also I ride a paso fino and i'm curious if you've found this saddle to improve the horses gaiting ability?

I generally use either a neoprene or cotton string girth. Depends on what works best for each horse.
This saddle seems to have no impact on gait. Just as bareback shouldn't either.

I heard every word not said in "the other rider did not assist me" 😅🤦‍♀️

Does this saddle offer spinal clearance, or is it more similar to a bareback pad? I currently only ride bareback and stirrupless, like yourself, but recently I've taken an interest in treeless saddles for the concept of spinal protection for my gelding. I'd love your input!

Fits like a close contact endurance/english saddle. So not much spinal clearance. Which is fine if your horse has a well developed topline and isn't bothered by bareback riding.

Think the stirrups would be ok for 5'2"?
