You seem to forget that Michael was also Carly’s son. And AJ wanted to steal Michael from Carly. That is the only reason Jason went along with Carly. She was desperate to keep her son.
Aj made his 2nd huge mistake by buying into carlys bull & letting her move in & play her games on him. He says he knows what a liar & manipulator she is. Bc I hate that sonny later took Micheal away his while childhood aj should gave filed for the paternity test & gotten full custody. She was just released from the mental hospital only a month before. Marrying carly & trying to build a marriage w/ her the writers just made aj seem stupider. Aj could have at least gotten joint custody bc jarly would have fought him & that was better than nothing. Letting carly in the house & marrying her made her mental stay less & less an issue.
Carly & Jason should have married that would have given them better legal standing. It actually would have been better if they were married when michael was born. I read somewhere that would make Jason the dad of record & a stronger case. In fact if u sign a birth certificate u are legally that childs father no going back. I know this for a fact bc courts dont want to deal with a woman lying to some guy & he payed years of child support. They don't want the mess of giving him support back or if he was put In jail for not paying . So when u sign an acknowledgement of paternity ot warns u several times to " make sure this is your child bc you will be responsible for this child until he/she is of age. So basically get a dna test make sure than sign. U can always add yr name but not take it off. Maybe it wasnt that way 20 yra ago & Jason does mention if robin just waited one more year their was no way aj could claim mikey.
