hi. what if the sun gear is fixed, then the planetary gear is sped up to say 1000rpm and then the sun gear released? With nothing fixed we are in neutral, but will the sun gear at the change start to rotate at 1000rpm?

Are the rotating shafts parallel to eachother or end to end?
