I think I've an explanation for this coming from personal and observed experiences once someone how is being strong for many others finally stops after saying how they feel it gets abit hard to stop the emotions you constantly repress kind of like taking a log out of a dam then the whole dam collapses
@@thats.cringe Yeah I know the feeling usually I'm quiet but the year my mother got diagnosed with breast cancer and my ex friends told me she'd probably just die and gave me a hard time those months I cried a lot at home and unfortunately sometimes on campus b/c everything hurt so much so yeah I know how it goes from holding it all in being indifferent until one day your world is crashing down and people who you thought could depend on dismiss your humanity and validity as a person

One of the most fascinating technical details of this movie to me is the clothes. If you look, all of the shirts/skirts/dresses stretch and move with the character’s actions.
I love that too! The individual strands of fabric you can see in certain shots (like the yarn used for the pink butterfly on Mirabel’s top, near her shoulder) is AMAZING to me. It blows my mind how far we've come with 3D animated films in the 27 years since Toy Story!
They animation the cloths on a different model from the face and the body. So it looks better
The skirts also look like they have real weight behind them, as the girls dance and twirl, and just move around. And being able to put weight behind an animation is always impressive.
That “wahhh im a loser” line is one of the greatest line deliveries ive ever seen. Its sad and hilarious
Fun fact: That line wasn't scripted! Jess Darrow improv'd that line. They directors loved it, so they kept it. Also, the scene in which Mirabel goes to find Bruno's room, where she says to the toucan "Well, at least I've got a friend, and nope, you fly away immediately" was also made up on the spot
0:23 the pouty face she makes after saying weak is the most precious thing and makes my heart melt. This poor girl needs more than one hug.
This whole thing happened because the family likes to have his own scape goat, first it was Bruno now Mirabel. God damnit, She gets talked down from hugging her sisters

Isabela and Luisa’s powers were the most used in building the town so I can understand why they were the ones who always had the biggest expectations. Not saying the others were any less important because they did a lot too. It just seems like Luisa and Isabel weren’t allowed to goof off or show their emotions a lot as much as the others.
Isabella's gift is being pretty and growing flowers... how's that helping the community?
@@lenawagenfuehr53 well later we find out she’s able to grow not just flowers, but other plants as well. Meaning her power could be extremely useful. I mean Isabela could help decorate and she was also going to help the family by getting married to have more gifted children. Isabela was doing a lot and now that she knows she can do more than grown roses she is extremely useful. She could help raise crops and help her mother be able to make more food to heal people.

She was even going to marry a man that she didn't even love, so who knows what else she acquiesced to without really wanting to. She had attitude problems, sure, but she was just as much a victim as Luisa and Mirabel under Abuela's expectations.

In the scene where the people were waiting outside to shout "congratulations" when they yelled it she was the only one who covered her ears. It probably means that everything is infinitesimally louder and clearer for her. She can choose to ignore it but can probably still hear legit EVERYTHING.

I love how they made Luisa strong but also gave her character depth. She is not just strong she also shows she is loving, caring but can also be crying and be scared and feel vulnerable.
It's really refreshing to see a character like her. All female body types are different,and they're all beautiful.

My theory on why Luisa was losing her power so noticeably was cuz her power was stressing her the most. So while everyone in the family was falling apart, she was in the most pain so she was most affected.
This title is an injustice disgrace to Luisa.

Wow I just realized that Luisa's rant at 0:40 specifically outlines what Abuela was concerned with (her losing her powers after taking to Mirabel), then tuned her out, immediately followed by what Mirabel was concerned with (how Luisa was feeling). That really succinctly showed the real problem within the family.

Note how she only starts feeling weaker at 0:35 when she felt even more pressure from being behind in work. She was already faltering from normal pressure, but having the additional pressure completely cracked her mental and her powers fizzled out.
Edit: Should also probably mention that her mental afterwards is just a falling elevator at that point; the more she realizes that she's becoming weaker and less useful, the weaker she becomes, and so on. Domino effect is terrible.

Luisa needs a vacay stat!!! Somebody write a Disney short where Luisa finally gets her dream vacation. She comes back from it refreshed and happy. Maybe the townsfolk and her family struggled slightly without her but they end up saying they will do it again if she really needs a break. Rather what is most important is that they help each other. Which helps Luisa to take it easy a bit more often but still be of service. And the townsfolk learn to be a bit more independent from her but appreciate her more for the service she provides when she helps. A sorta happy ever after. Plus I need a Disney short of Bruno re-adjusting to his life being out in the open. Trying to find ways to help his family and the town again. The People and his family supporting him and his visions. He learns he can rely on people and his once gift again. They learn to better understand him as a person as well as his gift in what it truly is. Maybe a moment about Mirano and Delores just to check up on them and ensure they are alright.
In her room, there's an amusement park, where she can ride a rollercoaster and enjoy herself
