    The 318 is actually the strongest Mopar small block because of the bore size. Other than bore diameter they are identical. A 318 bored .040 over with an eagle stroker crankshaft turns it into a 392ci monster!

    Thanx 4 the clip...takes me back. Had a 76 D100...rebuilt the stock 318 bottom end with a factory hardened steel crank I lucked into. Had a set of 'J' heads redone and shaved down with intake matching and a mild CC 268H cam. Strong, dependable lil motor...and truck.

    The number that matters is duration at .050". Total duration or advertised duration tells you nothing.
    238° of duration, intake and exhaust is what the camshaft has on a 110 LSA.
    It's huge, there are much smaller cams that would run a lot better.

    What kind of cam shaft? I’m looking to make a budget drag truck out of an older dodge pickup. It has a 318. And any other ways to make it faster???

    • @tl5108
      @tl5108 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can get a 318 up to about 400 HP pretty easy and still use it as a good daily. Get good flowing heads, better cam, and bump the compression up by decking the block and higher compression pistons
