Skulls are round, so it’s possible only three of the four blades made contact. His eyeball was still in tact, so we know it wasn’t a super deep wound, more of a glancing blow if anything.

Luffy's Elephant Gatling against Hody, is one of my favorite moments. Just, the shot of Hody's POV helplessly watching Luffy blow up his other arm too and the punch flying right at him, is so hype and dirty. I just love it.

The Anime REALLY stretched the end of the fight between Luffy and Hody. In the manga Luffy hits Hody with red hawk, Hody crashes into Noah and uses his shark attack. Luffy immediatly hits him with elefant gun and keeps hitting Noah. No second red hawk and no Hody getting up. The end

the most logical explanation to how Red Hawk works is that due to higher blood flow and friction of Gear 2, the Armament Hardening - which is like metal - gets heated up so much that it starts burning. the One Piece explanation is, Ace is just him everything else would go into spoiler territory
Do not be fooled by the Anime, after the first red hawk(and only one in the manga fight) hody was already badly hurtled, he tried launching his water sharks but luffy dodges and destroy him with one elephant gun and that's all for the fight, the Anime made him looks like a threat even for luffy while in reality he wasn't anything for luffy
We somewhat have an explanation for Red Hawk, but I'll give you the theories we had when we were, where you are now. Or at least this was my theory. Luffy is rubber, so when he stretches back that far and ads CoA (Armanent Haki), the friction that comes from that heats up and turns into flames.

Think about the history that Robin saw in the forest on Sky Island. This article mentioned that there are ancient weapons on Fish-Man Island. Think about it and who is the King of the Sea in the myth of Fish-Man in the sea?
So, you kind of seemed to miss this. You noticed Shirahoshi understand the sea kings, but when the first one said Luffy must stop, keep in mind he understood that too.
Shirahoshi can speak to the Sea Kings we already know but why can Luffy hear them as well. He did hear them telling him to stop. Luffy has to be special beyond what we already know at this point. At least we can always count on Brook to be a pervert in any scenario. He has upgraded from asking to see their panties to requesting for them to wear skirts.
They did Chopper so dirty, removing the pure uncontrollable menacing power from within his hands, turning him in to a useless fluffball, biggest let-down post timeskip imo :/
The thing that bothers me a bit is that in the manga Luffys 1 Red Hawk was enough to defeat Hordy and show how strong they all got. Not true ... Just checked (chapter 645) The filler part is him taking drugs again on the noah and some back and forth after that But he still does the shark pack (there is no clash) and then gets defeated by elepephant gun before luffy starts his gattling after Its still the same outcome

I just knew for a fact that Hordy did not get another pill boost and get even stronger and tanked a 2nd red hawk and Luffy shows like he's being defeated as he's falling which is pretty bad.

wdym hinted otohime downright told us that she could control the sea kings, that even neptune who could talk to whales cant do that
